We stayed here at the end of May 2013 in the 1 bed cottage. This was our 1st holiday in 3 years and our 1st holiday with the new arrival (22 month old daughter).||||We booked through Rustical Travel, who I must say are an excellent company. They provided us with lots of information and confirmed cot and high chair promptly. As well as detailed information on how to locate the cottage.||||We flew from Liverpool to Girona and hired a car from Hertz at the airport. Following a recommendation we telephoned the Hertz call centre to specifically request a full-to-full fuel policy to avoid the ridiculously expensive fuel charge. They were happy to do this without argument and faxed the confirmation to us. I later discovered that this saved us over 100 euros!||||The drive from the airport to the holiday home is scenic and simple; the roads are main roads and appear brand new. Light traffic and easy to navigate. The travel company provide a picture of the dirt track that leads to the holiday home from the main road, without this we probably would have driven straight past it, it isn't signposted.||||The track is fine; we managed it in a Seat Ibiza on several occasions, once without waking the little one!||||On arrival we were greeted by the charming Lluisa and her family. Her English is excellent, certainly much better than my Catalan. Lluisa has that fantastic ability to be amazingly helpful without becoming overbearing. Our hosts could not do enough for us, this included providing us with medicine (we brought flu on holiday with us) and freshly picked mushrooms from the estate (best mushrooms ever) as well as lots of recommendations about where to eat, local festivals on during our stay and the best beaches and towns.||||The pictures of the 1 bed cottage do not do it justice, it is much more spacious than it appears. The furniture is lovely hand crafted wood (no MDF in sight); there is a TV, DVD player, and satellite box in the living room. An ample kitchen with big dining table. A large bathroom with bath shower mixer. And the bedroom has a huge bed, massive wardrobe and two bedside tables. All this and still plenty of room for the excellent cot which also contained child bedding which was a nice touch.||||The grounds are amazing; this is what you are going for. It is just so peaceful. it reminds me of the Lake District, but sunny. It is a small working farm; they have sheep, a horse and two dogs (Patti and Coco). And there are woodland walks that start from the farm. You are so far from the main road that you will only hear birds, crickets and the bells tied to the sheep. Of a night, when the sun goes down you can't see your hand in front of your face. No danger of light pollution here.||||The nearest town is Arbuciers, this is a short 5-minute drive away, this has many places to eat, as well as a butcher, bakers and possibly a candlestick makers. And just before entering the town you will find a good-sized supermarket. What I loved about this place was that everything is so much cheaper than back home. This is what you get when you don't go to a tourist trap. ||||We ate out at "Mams" on the recommendation of our host. The food was modern and tasty; the three of us ate two courses, plus two beers, a bottle of water and a bottle of wine to take home for a staggeringly low 30 euros! How is that even possible?||||You are 30 minutes from the several excellent beaches, same again to Girona and many other towns. ||||We also sampled the lamb from the farm, delicious. Although I was concerned when Patti decided to get up on her two back legs to have a look at the food on the table, that dog is huge! Fortunately she didn't eat my dinner and had a little sleep under the table instead, must have dissaproved of my cooking.||||This is a wonderful place to stay; our little one absolutely loved it and is still asking to see Patti and Coco. There is so much to do, and the hosts are on hand to make sure you see everything worth seeing. ||||The only negative... the English flu that followed us!||||Lluisa and family, thank you for making our holiday so special.||||Colin,...
Read moreThe most relaxing place to stay, full of forest and streams, it is idyllic to say the least. The owners Ernest and Lluisa are kind, friendly hosts who really care that you are catered for providing organic lamb that is the tastiest we have ever had. The place is so peaceful but it is based close to the Costa Brava should you wish to visit the beach or Barcelona (1 hour) and only approximately 40 minutes drive from Girona airport. It was so relaxing we chose to stay where we were going on walks or hikes in the forest, if not we could just relax by the pool. The local town Arbucies, less tan 10 minutes drive has a great supermarket but also the local shops offer very good quality, affordable food as well as excellent restaurants . ||||This is the second time we have come to El Moli, we have stayed in both the one bedroom and two bedroom cottage, they are lovely, really comfortable, quirkly and very well stocked. They include great BBQ áreas and a fireplace with lots of wood and central heating should it get cold. They are perfect with everything you need and they blend so well into the gorgeous background. You cannot find one view that is not stunning. ||||I would strongly recommend this place if you want to get away from it all and trully relax and recharge your batteries. I have a feeling we may visit...
Read moreIf you are looking to disconnect from everything and have a very comfortable relaxing stay in the fresh air of the countryside then this is the right place for you.||There are three apartment to choose from, all excellent. Very comfortable and very well equipped. The location is superb, the small babbling brook provides the sound track to the location when caramelo the white horse roams free to add the the sense of freedom the physical location affords. The two family dogs will also relax you as they are so tranquil and welcoming. The owners also exude an air of friendship and welcoming. They seem to be at one with the environment.||The apartments are very comfortable and have all the cooking utensils required as well as centeral heating and a stove. There is TV, DVD, satellite channels if you require those but also a bbq and tables outside to enjoy a open air dinner and a glass of wine. The place is spotlessly clean and the apartment we stayed in had a large bathroom and shower as well as laundry appliance. The Moli has a small farm with chickens and a vegetable garden. These are open spaces to walk with the family dogs or Caramelo as company. This place is like something from a painting. The only slight downside is you need to drive very carefully on the small road to the el moli de can aulet....
