In every respect this is one of the nicest hotels we have stayed at in Spain. It is small and family-run, and therefore service is very 'personal'. The facilities - room, bathroom, public areas - are all excellent: clean, well provisioned, very comfortable, and quiet. Iciar and Guillermo were excellent hosts, and Iciar's command of English very good (she showed great tolerance of our very limited Spanish, and we enjoyed talking). We had two very tasty evening meals accompanied by very good regional wine - Iciar justly takes pride in the meals she produces, and is an excellent cook; we appreciated greatly her care in accommodating my dietary needs. Breakfast, too, included home-made preserves and cakes, and kept us going all day! The building has an interesting history and has been beautifully restored; whilst in a quiet rural location it is only 15 minutes drive from Burgos, which we very much enjoyed visiting. We will certainly hope to be able to make a...
Read moreMy husband loved our 2-day stay with our two university-aged sons. Iciar and Guillermo obviously love and take great care of their house, which is comfortable, spotlessly clean and filled with lovely little details. As hosts, they were pleasant and accomodating and made us feel right at home. The common areas were comfortable and well-laid out, the garden was inviting, beds were comfortable and there was complete silence at night. Breakfast (included in the price) was quite complete, and included homemade sweets, yoghurt, cold cuts, cheese, toast, fresh-squeezed juice and hot beverages. We had dinner one night at the house, and it ended up being the best meal we had during our trip, and was accompanied by a tasty local wine recommended by Iciar. The location was perfect: it took us 15 minutes to get to the city of Burgos and park and 40 minutes to the charming village of Covarrubias. We didn't explore more because we were too busy...
Read moreIt's been 5 years since I first wrote a review for Molina de la Vega and, as we have now stayed there another 10 times, an updated review is due. It goes without saying that we absolutely love staying there - why? There is a wonderful, heart-warming mix of a very warm welcome, a peaceful location, lovely rooms, comfy beds, delicious food and wine. The owner Iciar is a star and we always look forward to seeing her and try to guess what she will cook for our dinner (we're never right). Iciar is a wonderful chef and we have thoroughly enjoyed all of her dinners and breakfasts. ||||Molina de la Vega is about half-way on our drive between UK and Algarve, and we always leave feeling refreshed and relaxed for the next leg of our journey. Highly...
