The house is beautiful, the rooms attractive but rather small, extras such as water or beer very expensive and mealtimes regimented. The dinner was tasty and perfectly adequate. Breakfast was a little sparse and the regimentation showed in the exact measuring of everything that was on your plate. It was just about enough, but only just. Had I been off for a long walk in the hills I would have found the breakfast disappointing!||The village is very attractive and has been tastefully restored and there are many walks in the area.|| You have to leave your car in a field at the entrance to the village where, if you're lucky in season, you'll be able to park under the awnings to be protected from the sun. I went to get something in the car early morning and people on an early walk with their dogs; seems that this is where they bring the dogs to urinate and defecate. So there was excrement close to the car and copious dog urine on one of the wheels. Nice start to the day! (though not the fault of the hotel).||The hotel says it has wifi but we generally couldn't get it to function and when it did it cut out almost immediately.||So it was OK as a stay, but I think I'd soon get fed up of the regimented way of life and the price...
Read moreThis a charming small hotel in the Sierra and Canyons of Guara Nature Park of the mid-Pyrenees run by Miguel and Ana. The village of Lecina is up in the hills, but not far from the main tourist attraction of Alquézar, and there are some lovely walks from Lecina to the dramatic La Choca canyon and rock paintings. The high Pyrenees are also not far away.||||We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Miguel is an excellent host with a wide knowledge of the area. Ana's meals in the evening were delicious, with vegetables from their own garden, and complemented by Miguel's choice of wine. There is no menu and it is Ana's choice of the day for dinner. In the week that we stayed there we had a different dish every night and all were excellent.||||The village is blissfully quiet - the church clock bells stop at midnight and don't start again until the morning (an important point for anyone who has suffered in Girona). The price is very good value and the service friendly and individual. Highly recommended.||||The hotel is in a restored rustic building so in the room we had the ceiling was a bit low in the bathroom for tall men - but a small price to pay for such...
Read moreWe stayed for 3 nights. We didnt know the area which is amazing. With children from 4+5 years we walked every days through the area and finished in the river. More pro's walk the whole river Vero down with equipment but we enjoyed the parts where the children could play, makes damms en swim. This is also the part near (20 min walk) the village. The water is icecold though but really clean as the source of the river is actually near the village. We used to drink water from the river. The walking paths are very well indicated. The hotel is small, breakfast and dinner were good. You should take half board as there is no other place to go in the village. Surprisingly, the owner has a nice colllection of cigars which are very well kept. The rooms and bathroom are ok. We shared a room with the children. It has no tv or wifi but we didnt miss it at all. We will come...
