We spent 3 weeks in August at this lovely place. The house is very nice, surrounded by pure nature, which was exactly what we were looking for. We are a Finnish couple living in Dénia, close to Valencia. Dénia is always very hot and crowded in August, so most Augusts we have been in Finland. This year we wanted to try something else. We looked for a peaceful place that is less hot in August.
This area around Burgos is only a 6-hour drive away, so we decided to give it a try. There are quite a lot of accommodations and hotels in this area, but only very few have air conditioning, and this is probably the only house with its own heated pool.
We booked through Airbnb, but afterwards I noticed that the house has its own website and is also on Booking.com. The house looked lovely so we decided to book it. When we arrived, we were even more surprised, as the house was nicer than in the Airbnb pictures.
The first plus was that you can park the car in front of the house inside a gate. It is also very easy to park and leave. You can see the space and our car (a SUV) in the attached pictures.
The house was really nice and felt like home from the beginning. It is tastefully decorated and very clean. As we stayed for three weeks, it was cleaned twice during our stay. Towels and bedlinen were also changed.
The first week Spain had a heat wave, so even this region was quite hot, but the air conditioner worked well, so the house felt fresh. I assume that it also heats the house well if you stay there in autumn or winter.
The house is modern, equipped with chargers, several TVs (we did not use them), and a kitchen with a coffee maker (Tassimo), tea kettle, toaster, microwave, oven, and air fryer. It also has a dishwasher and a washing machine.
The heated pool is superb. It is long enough (8 m) to swim in. The pool has a temperature sensor, so it keeps the water at 30 degrees. The pool is connected to the house with a glass terrace with heating. We loved having our breakfast there. The small garden was also a nice place to relax. I added some pictures of the garden and pool but did not take pictures inside, as we had too many private things around.
I would say that the house suits best a couple, or a family with a maximum of 2 children. There are two bedrooms and a combined living room/kitchen. The sofa is quite big, and the table has room for 4 people. There is a lovely ensuite bathroom in the master bedroom and a second bath for the other bedroom. There is also a shower in the garden, but it is more for summer use and after swimming.
The village is small and cute. It has 2 restaurants, a bar/café, and a small grocery shop with a surprisingly good assortment. I added a few pictures.
Anyway, we loved this place and we have already made a new reservation...
