Casa Amelia — Hotel in Cómpeta

We stayed at Casa Amelia for nearly a week, a group of 6 people. The villa itself is perfect - everything is clean and tidy, there's lots of space, all the kitchenware and other tools are there to have an amazing time even for a longer stay. The pool area and the terrace are clean, cozy and private. Communication with Monica was easy and straightforward ❤️ The only thing to be aware of - getting there is not easy. You will get lost if you only trust Waze. Always, and I mean, ALWAYS go to Mirador Panorámico (observation deck of Competa) first and then navigate to the villa (and vice versa if you want to travel around). And even then it's possible to get lost, so make sure to follow the instructions provided by the host (to be very nitpicky, instructions could have been a bit more clear). However, if you arrive during the day, Monica will meet you and guide you there, but we were unlucky with the arrival time. We highly recommend an SUV or other all-road car for getting there. Our stay at Casa Amelia was APPALLING!There was VERY loud construction work taking place next door and the pool was not safe to use.Monica knew about both issues but chose not to inform us.The photographs on Airbnb were not accurate and hide the fact that there are houses overlooking the pool area.The pool terrace has tacky astroturf in areas which is not shown in the photos.When I contacted Monica about the issues she became confrontational, personal & unprofessional .The fireplace was also badly designed and beyond useless on a cold evening.We left the property after one night & were offered a 50 % refund by Monica which we declined and are now seeking a full refund through other avenues as AIRBNB customer service has been as shambolic as Casa Amelia.We didn't miss Casa Amelia or the dog that...

We stayed almost 4 weeks here. I felt immediately at home in the house -Monica and her family have thought of everything -the place is spotlessly clean and the rooms are really nice. The outside views are spectacular from the pool area. Most of all though Monica and her family want you to have a good time -nothing is really too much trouble for them. I read one review that the house is overlooked? Maybe with a pair of military binoculars and nothing to do? - The drive to the property is not the easiest but you do get used to it and it is a case of doing it a few times.
