Just like mentioned by others: Prior contact seemed friendly and the hosts made an effort to speak English. Upon arrival, however, that was not so much the case anymore. I believe the woman in receiption does not speak any English at all. Upon arrival José showed us the pool (which is nice indeed) and said something about towels in the shed. When we asked about surfing lessons he emphasised that the school and also his house were fully booked for now and until fall. Later we had the impression that this was exactly the problem: The people who run the house had some quick success (at least for this season) so believe, that they do not have to provide much service at all. ||||Our room in the main building was clean, but quite dark, no aircondition. Every single piece of furniture was from IKEA (cheapest series, especially the plastic gear in the bathroom, soap/shampoo in plastic bags..). Every lemonade from the fridge will be charged separately. So far so good. A friendly sign in the room - with greeting from the direction - will explain all the things that are prohibited. When we went to the nice pool, there were no towels provided at all. Instead no possibility to get a drink or even bring your own (food and drinks are prohibited on the pool - greetings from the director). No hairdresser in the room, but upon a phone call to the hostess, we at least got a description where to find one (in a box at reception).||We were aware that the house had no restaurant, but eating our own food in the dark breakfast room was not very pleasant at all. Again a friendly sign reminded us that use of tables and glasses was only allowed after prior authorisation (greetings from the director). We tried to grin and bear with it. ||||Upon checkout it got even better: When I asked the grim lady from the front desk for an invoice, she said something in Spanish which I did not understand, but it did not sound friendly. It then turned out that neither mine nor my husbands credit card (which worked well all over Galcia in other places) were accepted. Or maybe the credit card reader just did not work. The lady got very annoyed and called José to take over. So we left our card details and José said he would deduct the money from my card. Some days later I received another email, copmlaining that San Cibran were not able to deduct the money from my account. I have no idea why, since it works perfectly well with all other hotels and shops.||After some more inquiries with José(asking for more bank details) and my bank I eventally managed to wire the money. Again I received a note requesting that I send a copy of the bank confirmation. A rather bumpy experience...to put it nicely. ||||In summary: San Cibran may be nice for bigger groups of families or maybe locals. But surely not for international travellers like us. We were disappointed. For a price of approx. EUR 100 there are many beautiful b&bs in Galicia, with a...
Read moreI know Carnota since childhood and searched for a place where I can experience this great great place. San Cibran is perfect! ||What stunned me most, was the traditional outlook they kept by modernizing this place to this marvelous bed & breakfast ( and if you wish: the famous snack ;-). Everything is decorated sincerly to give the guest a relaxing feeling. If you have question, they help you. ||It is not a all inclusive stay, but it offers so much more. The atmosphere is fantastic . You can make landtrips over the mountains, or go to this fantastic beach . ||....or just stay there and relax. ||The rooms are lovely decorated, and with the stonewall traditional "gallego". I have to mention, they have a huge variety of sports you can use, and if you are in surfing, walking or stuff like this....perfect place to stay. And for us, just normal german couple, who wants to escape the rush of life: it is sure, we come again ..and again ..and again. Thank the San Cibran Team for making this wonderful hideout from the...
