I recently took a break from the hustle of Barcelona and found a slice of heaven at Hotel Palau Macelli. Tucked in a cozy town close to beautiful spots like Cadaques and Figueres, this place was the peaceful retreat I desperately needed.
Right away, Hotel Palau Macelli felt special. Everything, from the spotless surroundings to the super kind staff, made me feel truly welcome. They really cared about making my stay amazing, and it showed in every little detail.
The town around the hotel was just as charming, giving me the best of both worlds: a quiet place to chill and cool spots to explore nearby. It was the perfect backdrop for my little getaway.
My room was like a personal haven. Comfortable, stylish, and just what I needed to relax and recharge. Waking up there felt like a dream, with sunlight gently peeping through the curtains each morning.
But my favorite spot had to be the hotel's garden. It was so peaceful, sitting there with my coffee, surrounded by nature's quiet. It was these moments of calm in the garden that really made my stay unforgettable.
Hotel Palau Macelli wasn't just a place to sleep—it was my peaceful bubble away from the city. It was ideal for some quiet time alone, and I left feeling refreshed and grateful for the experience. This place is a true gem for anyone needing a break from the...
Read moreTrue to be told, Castelló d'Empuries was not on our holiday itinerary but then I ran into the Palau Macelli and decided to make an exception to the original plan, adding one extra night (glad I made this decision).
After a renovation of the old palace lasted 2 years, the property is now an architectural masterpiece, decorated with a very good taste. Oleguer and his girlfriend, the owners and hotel managers, are very attentive and helpful.
It is hard to add something to the photos (mine and official ones) that speak for themselves about the beauty of this place. Everything is wonderful, both the room/s and the common areas.
The Junior Suite (thanks for the upgrade 🙏) is amazing, with all the amenities one could expect for a hotel of this level. Great attention has been paid to all the details.
The swimming pool on the terrace is a nice place to relax and the gardens are marvelous too.
Breakfast is delicious and served at the table, even if there is a small buffet corner.
CON's: I do not find any !
If you are looking for an accommodation in this area of the Alt Empordá, you should not look further: Palau Macelli is the place where to stay.
