After previous years in another camping near Platje D'Aro, we chose this year to stay at Valldaro. Mostly because of its proximity to the supermarkets and that it is easier to walk to town and the local shopping areas. The camp is spread over a large area, and to me, it seems like two camps taken over and joined together? The camp and facilities were very clean, mostly due to the adult working staff on site. And here is where my problem begins. It became very apparent to us that 95% of the staff were seasonal job students who without training or adult trained staff to help them lacked the necessary responsibility when issues arose with and from campers, be it at reception or round the pool area or at the bar/restaurant. Our first negative experience began on our first visit to the bar/restaurant. After arriving to eat at 21:00 and after asking and being told we still had time to order we waited a very long time to order and longer still to receive our order it was now dark. Halfway through eating our chicken strips, we saw that they were still raw. My complaint was dealt with by a young staff member who avoided responsibility straight away by claiming he was from another restaurant and helping out that evening. No manager or other authority figure was on site to my knowledge (Saturday evening) No charge was made for the food but disgusted with what was now in our stomachs we took the precaution of promtly going to the toilets and throwing up any contents there in. Not a great start to the holiday. Thankfully, we had no further repercussions from this experience, and needless to say, we did not eat or drink another thing from the camping bar or restaurants. The pool areas had plenty of staff patrolling but again young and very often ignoring guests leaving rubbish behind, again a training/managerial problem. We were able to choose our plot from 3 locations and chose a shaded area near the facilities as in other campings these are well patrolled in the evening to stop late night returnees from clubs & bars from gathering and youths turning them into mini nightclub rave bars. Sadly, here again, there was no responsibility. We used the app to report noise late in the evenings/morning on 3 occasions in our first 8-10 days, but daily throughout the day and early evening, it was like a jungle in there. Again, without complaining, there was no sight nor sound from staff. Even the cleaning staff seemed to have no communication with security or reception via walkie talkies or apps to communicate this disruption, and with no english, they simply looked the other way. And or course by the time we did see security or a responsible person, the revellers had already run away. So we ended up stressed and uneasy going to sleep in the evening. Such a pity, as this camp has so much to offer if only the boss would show some authority with his/her staff and come down heavily on disruptive visitors. It can not be left to other campers to police the campsite. The campground itself is very lovely. Maybe in the coming years, the planting of shrubs or marking of plots might help keep the sand dust down and help visitors keep their areas private. But all in all training and having authority figures on site would be a very good start. Ps We noticed on our last couple of days that the pool quality was not very good in the late afternoons, and when we returned to Belgium, we were all ill with vomiting and diarrhoea. This has now been confirmed by a Laboratory test by our doctor as Cryptosporidium. So if you read this it would be interesting to know how many others have been ill. We holidayed from 22/7-5/8/23

What a great campsite! We stayed in the 'Tendas Fun' and had a fabulous 3 night break. The facilities are impeccably clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. The tent sleeps 4 (1 double and 2 singles), has a gas hob, fridge, microwave, plenty of pots, pans cutlery and crockery and a handy little welcome kit with washing up liquid, sponge, etc. The kids' pools are great fun and are lifeguard supervised. L'Orangerie restaurant does great food at reasonable prices. Try the goat chess salad; what a treat! We're making it our annual summer family holiday!

Nothing compared to mas Pinel! You're among cigarette butts everywhere. Lifeguards giving priority to Spaniards. Example, Our son was just under 1.25 which meant he was not allowed to go down the slide, fine. But then left and right Spaniards who were also this height got in front and passed. Not fair! Long queues for ordering drinks and food. No, in terms of service not what we are used to.

We had one of the most relaxing holidays at Camping Valldaro. I'll begin by mentioning the staff who were extremely nice and helpful. They provided assistance even before our arrival, by answering each and every question we had. Check-in and check-out went smooth and the deposit was returned in a couple of hours after our departure. The Sagaro bungalow we booked was very comfortable. It felt spacious although the surface is limited and the kitchen was very well-equipped. The camping is very clean and there is no area left unattended. Both pool areas are built as to serve adults and children as well. We were there mid-September so we'd usually go to the beach in the first half of the day, when it was warmer, and then relax by the pool in the afternoon. The walk to the beach (Gran Platja) is roughly 20 minutes (with a 5 year old) and very enjoyable, provided that it goes along the river Ridaura and Parc dels Estanys (which looks like a small natural reservation). All in all, we had a marvelous time here and we're definitely considering returning to...

We had such high hopes as we have stayed as their other site (Mas Pinell) further North but were very disappointed by this stay. |Our caravan was right at the very edge of the park and the noise from other vans was so bad with absolutely no policing from the security even after I complained. The pools were far too full and one day our bands didn't work so they sent us back to the reception (quite a walk in the heat) and by the time we got back there was no space for us at all. Food was poor and service at the bar and restaurant was just awful - really rude and poorly trained staff. Not enough staff keeping rowdy holiday makers in line during the day or night. |Broken glass on some of the many unused tent pitches between our caravan and the pool and bar area so we had to be very careful walking back in the evenings. Not a well kept site other than the areas that have been done up. The rest is just a mess and needs a...
