Ca l'Helena. Casa Rural — Hotel in Castellet i la Gornal

Beautiful house with beautiful garden and swimming pool! The location is fantastic in this fairy-tale village. The house is spacious and clean and has everything you need for a great holiday. The owner is very friendly and committed to his guests. From this accommodation you can easily visit the very beautiful beaches in the area (Sitges, alta fula, coma ruga, etc). The swimming pool in the patio cools you off on hot summer days.

For me personally there are also a few flaws that I want to point. That is the reason for 4 stars and not 5 star rating for me.

The chairs at the table in the garden are really in need of replacement, as someone has already indicated and really hurt after a while. The mattresses can really be better for a house in this price range and are just not comfortable anymore, I have regularly woken up with pain. The heat in the house and especially the bedrooms runs very high in the summer and apart from a ceiling fan, which hardly brings any cooling, there is little to be done about this. We have bought 2 extra fans to get it a bit cool. The frying pan in the kitchen is now also in need of replacement, the bottom is off.

The traffic and especially the motorbikes that actually race through the village from the day starts until late at night are really a big disappointment. Incomprehensible that there are no thresholds in this village, which means that every now and then it is driven as if it were a race track. The owner may not be able to do anything about this, but it is really something to be reckoned with.

Ca l’Helena està ubicat en un lloc genial envoltat de natura on pots desconectar de l’estres de la ciutat. El poble és petitet amb 50 habitants on hi ha un restaurant i una fleca que fan un pà i croissant boníssims, hi ha un castell del segle X i rutes per caminar amb paissatges espectaculars. Hi ha el preciòs pantà del Foix on es poden veure aus de diferents espècies. Ideal per anar amb nens de totes les edats, amics, familia... Ca l’Helena és una casa fantàstica, amb una cuina oberta molt amplia, el menjador molt gran amb tres espais, tots oberts, un on estan els sofas amb la llar de foc i els sofas, un altre amb una gran taula per menjar i un altre perfecte per posar l’ordinador i tenir el teu despatx. Tot plegat és molt acollidora i amb tots els detalls perquè l’estancia sigui el més comoda posible. A la terrassa està la piscina orientada perfectament per tenir sol tot el dia i una taula on menjar si vols després de fer la barbacoa o per sopar a les nits i fer la tertulia. Ens va agradar molt que hi ha jardí i tenen un precios oliver de 75 anys. Tot està molt net, amb uns mobles molt macos que semblen antiguitats. A dalt hi han quatre espaioses habitacions cadascuna amb el seu bany propi. Tot està perfectament equipat: llençols, mantes, secadors, tovalloles, rentadora, rentavaixelles... Ets sents com a casa o en el nostre cas, millor que a casa pel fet que els nens van disfrutar molt de la piscina.

I per acabar, encara que no menys important, vull destacar l’amabilitat de Quim, atent a qualsevol necessitat nostre i molt proper donant la confiança que mai abans ens haviem trobat. Molt pacient perquè vam arribar pel check in una mica tard de la hora prevista i tot i això amb una càlida benvinguda. Per cert, de benvinguda vam tenir unes Catanies tipiques de Vilafranca que no us les podeu perdre!

L’estancia s’ha fet curta però intensa. Ben segur que hi tornarem i desitjem poder conèixer a Helena.

We spent a week with my two young children at Ca l'Helena in July. The house was a perfect setting, quiet with privacy and with a swimming pool big enough for my children to enjoy a splash everyday. The place was spotless and with plenty to get by. The owners also left us a really nice welcome gift on the very first day and Quim gave us plenty of recommendations for places to visit and things to do.
