This was our second visit to Cave Holidays Andalucia, the first being back in the hot summer when temperatures were hitting 30 degrees plus. On that visit we were impressed by how naturally cool the cave house was, resulting in the best night’s sleep without the more usual, constant hum and drone of an air conditioning unit running most of the night. I wondered how a night in a cave might be this time, with outside nighttime temperatures plummeting to below zero.||||I shouldn’t have worried. After watching the beautiful sun set behind the mountains each evening, we retreated inside to the warmth and coziness of the cave and its roaring pellet burner. And then, when bedtime came, we sunk into the deep depths of the incredibly soft pillows and were cosseted by the fluffy, warm duvet. Once again enjoying the best night sleep that went on to late morning.||||Ian and Viv were again the perfect hosts, welcoming us back as close friends. Their local knowledge is impressive and even told us of a place where snow would most likely have fallen overnight for us to enjoy an embracing walk and an inevitable family snowball fight, which was a big hit with all the kids. Especially the adult ones.||||Our sightseeing itinerary was pretty much the same as our summer one, but it’s amazing how different the experience is at this time of the year. The beautifully quaint little Spanish towns were even more stunning, overlooked by snow topped mountains and decked out for Christmas and Three Kings. Restaurant terraces we had stopped at previously for a cold beer and tapas, were now serving hot chocolate and hearty Andalucian stews. ||||f you think you know this area from a visit in the summer, I’d strongly encourage you to visit again in the Winter or Spring. ||||And I would definitely recommend you stay with Ian and Viv at Cave...

Read moreWe booked a family holiday here - our first in Inland Spain. The communication from the owners was outstanding- with advice on directions from the airport, advice on hiring a car and how to get to the supermarket in Baza en route.||On arrival we had a very warm welcome and walked into our spacious well appointed apartment and found a welcome pack with some essentials. My jaw dropped when I saw the appointment - talk about value for money !!! Everything we needed and very comfortable. it was extremely clean and I admitted to feeling ashamed to use the oven - it was so clean I felt that I must have been the first to use it, but I wasn't.||The detail and length Viv And Ian go to is amazing. We felt so comfortable here. ||We were given a pack with details of local places to visit and things to do. However they are always on hand if you need further advice. You can just relax here if you want - I felt relaxed upon arrival - instantly but there are some great things to do locally. It's quiet and peaceful here and very Spanish ||I would return at the drop of a hat - I am here with my wife and 11 year old daughter -...
