We checked in last night, arrived a bit later than we expected, but we were greeted so graciously by Emilio. We speak very little English but he was so sweet in how he tried to describe everything for us, from the parking of our car, the operation of the gate, the keys to the gate and doors, and the breakfast hours for the morning. The entire place is immaculate, and so well decorated. ||We were so delighted when we opened the window in our room, as the sun had just set, and we had a flock of sheep grazing in the field out back. It was so peaceful and beautiful! The mountains in the background were also great to see! ||The room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. It is obvious they take great care to make sure everything is just right! It was such a nice change to be in such a quaint and unique place. It was exactly what we needed during our trip to the Basque Country! ||Since our Spanish is not the best, we have used Google Translate to help communicate with Emilio and he has been great in trying to understand what we are asking, and to make sure we feel comfortable and welcome. He makes you feel like you are truly being welcomed into his home. ||We still have one more night here, and are so glad we chose La Llosa for our stay near Bilbao!||Thank you to you, Emilio, and to the rest of your staff (or family) at La Llosa! You have a beautiful home and we appreciate you sharing it with us! If we are ever in the part of the world again, it would be a pleasure to see you again, and stay in your lovely...
Read moreAfter having traveled cross country through the Rioja and Navarra regions with very rigid unwelcoming hosts, it was a breath of fresh air to be greeted personally by the innkeeper who shook our hand, showed us where to park our car and seemed actually very happy to see us. What a contrast with our last 3 stays (I will get to those in other reviews). The host, his wife and daughter were charming and could not do enough to ensure we had a great stay. There was not much in the way of restaurants around the inn but found a great family tapas bar in Castro and actually fell in love with the town, a must see in the daytime. I wrote a quick review that night for the website I had booked on, and, as a result, were greeted with tears and hugs and kisses in the morning. We had breakfast at the inn and the hosts were very accommodating to provide us with what we wanted. This place looks a little quirky when you drive up but the accommodations are top notch, comfortable and clean. Could not ask for anything more, would stay here again in...
