Casa del Rio Riverside Retreat — Hotel in Cortes de la Frontera

This is a perfect retreat, tucked away in the beautiful Cortes de la Frontera countryside on the edge of one of the pretty white villages (pueblos blancos). We took over the whole place as a group and Karen was the perfect hostess and made us feel super welcome and comfortable. The rooms are lovely, the food second to none (the cream tea and bubbly was soooo good and the breakfast was very generous). We went for some super walks and there is so much to see in the village and surrounding area. I highly recommend this little gem for a stay with family or friends for a quick getaway or a full blown holiday. Take a room or take over the whole place with or without catering. Casa del Rio is set in beautiful countryside and is a delightful place to spend time. The hotel is beautifully decorated, extremely comfortable and nothing is too much for Karen, the lady in charge. I felt very welcome and looked after. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. The breakfast was excellent too.

The retreat is a gorgeous place to stay and the village, although tiny is very friendly. Karen was a great hostess, can totally recommend the afternoon tea, all homemade, with proper cream for the scones!
