After the first night of my holiday I'd decided I'd just stay wherever I found on route at about the right time. Well, Las Grandas certainly came at the right time. It is, it has to be said, in the middle of nowhere! There's no town or village particularly close by & if you stay here, you eat here, unless hunger is your thing; it's not mine. Fortunately the food is as good as the location. I ate dinner in the panoramic restaurant at the rear of the hotel, with 275o views of the lake below, it's beautiful. The terrace outside has similar views & is actually a bit of a sun-trap too, great place for a beer before eating & a digestif afterwards.||||My room was adequately sized, it's not a huge place so don't expect massive suites. It was however well appointed, the water was plentiful & hot, towels were good & soft, the floor didn't squeak, the bed was comfortable & it was clean - what more can you ask? In my case, nothing, it...

We stayed here for two nights while on the Camino Primitivo and had a wonderful stay. The hotel has beautiful views of the lake from the outdoor cafe area and was very relaxing. Our room was quite big and also had lovely views of the lake and mountains. The people who work at the hotel were friendly and very accommodating of our poor attempts at speaking Spanish. The food was also really good and reasonably priced. Most people continue up the hill to Grandas de Salime but we'd highly recommend stopping here for the night. Note: previous reviews mentioned a dog barking and no wifi. There was a dog at the property who barked occasionally but it was rare and we never heard him at night. There was also WiFi in all areas...

Visited 15/06/25 - Astounding location and restaurant, the outside terrace looks over the whole valley and is encompassed by a lush garden setting. The food was incredible and well priced. We had some drinks and sandwiches sat in the sun. It was perfect. We only wish we had stayed in the accommodation so we could experience it again in the morning! The staff were friendly and very present, the terrace had plenty of visitors from pilgrims to families and biking groups. We would absolutely come here again

I will call this place an oasis, because that is how I saw it from a distance. After passing the higher point between Berducedo and Grandas, the downhill to the Dann feels endless. Once you pass the dann it will take you around 10 minutes to get to H las Grandas. The coffee, the beers, the bocadillos, and the view from the terrace are just amazing. make sure you stop here, you will enjoy it. Then you will be ready to walk the last 5k to Grandas. Buen camino.
