Terrific soundproofing due to the awful structure and materials used in the whole building!!! We suffered a lot from the noise You can hear clearly when your neighbors are active (talking, taking a shower, doing laundry, dropping something etc.). Don’t mention when they are happily chatting, laughing or singing. An atrium in the middle of the building amplifies every sound from each apartment. When people are talking at the open window of the atrium, you have no way to escape from the loudness!
Poor decorated apartment. The furnitures, mattresses, appliances and supplies are what you would expect in a €60 room, definitely not a room you spend €200~€250 per night.
Miserable customer service and fake 24-hour support. The response time takes at least half a day to 3 days via email or on the chat board of Olalahomes, unless a phone call is made or you use WhatsApp. Never follow up for the reported issues. Finally pretended to provide a another apartment on our 4th day by a short email and asked “do you want to check the new apartment now?” at 23:37pm. Asked the guest to call the police for the problem of noisy neighbors by themselves because they have no onsite staffs at that time.
Deceiving excuse for their processing mistakes after reporting the problem for 3 days Reserved the apartment 4.1 particularly and they assigned me a lower level of apartment. Reported on the day of arrival and they asked for “evidence”, so I spent one hour making the screenshots to prove my right after a long trip. All the silence from the customer service until the 4th day noon. I finally got a short email saying that 4.1 is not available during my stay and these two apartments are the same category (but with different price?! 4.1 was more expensive!) Offering another apartment with a bunk bed to choose and asked me to reply shortly. No further step was taken until the midnight.
Wrong or lack of necessary information in the check-in instructions! Access code of the main entrance is wrong! Fortunately found another code somewhere else in advance. No instruction of how to use the luggage storage room in the same building in the pre-arrival email. Firstly, upon arrival, the apartment was not ready. I was informed that it would take an additional hour for them to clean it. This delay was quite inconvenient and not the best way to start a short trip. The apartment also had a terrible smell of ego, which made the initial experience quite unpleasant. I tried to communicate this issue to the staff, but due to a language barrier, it was challenging to convey my concerns effectively.
On the day of check-out, my flight was scheduled for the evening, but the check-out time was at 11 a.m. I inquired about the possibility of storing our luggage, but the staff directed me to contact Olala support. Unfortunately, Olala's response was delayed, and I had to carry all my bags around for the entire day, which was not ideal for my travel plans.
Another significant issue was the lack of internet access during the majority of our 4-day stay. Internet connectivity is crucial for travelers, as it's essential for organizing and navigating a trip. Not having access to the internet for three out of the four days was a significant inconvenience.
Overall, my experience with this apartment rental was far from satisfactory. The delayed check-in, the language barrier, the lack of luggage storage options, and the extended period without internet access all contributed to my disappointment. We are a family of six who travelled all the way to Barcelona, only to find ourselves in one of the worst accommodations we’ve ever seen.
The apartment had a strong sewage smell, the sofa bed was broken, filthy, and stained, and there was no proper storage for clothes or belongings – not suitable at all for families, despite what was advertised.
We contacted the host multiple times and got nothing but denial and generic replies. No one showed up to help us. We were left standing on the street with four children, desperately looking for alternative accommodation late in the evening.
To make matters worse, the host refused to refund anything even though we couldn’t stay there. This place is nothing like the pictures or description.
