Camping Port Massaluca — Hotel in la Pobla de Massaluca

Fantastic 3 days fishing at the worst time of the year. August and super hot but Yvan provided to us a varied plan to catch lots of black bass, perch and zander. Both my son and I caught pig sized perch and had a mad session on newly names Kalans point with super action and incredible fish each cast on the last evening. Caught my first bass on fly and got our PBS on perch with decent sized zander too but lost a far bigger specimen- darn.. A couple off big bass lost as well.. Yvan the guide really knows the water and advises well on the methods and lures to catch time after time. Big up to Fish minnows which work so well and lots of fun on little crank baits baits and poppers for the bass as well as loco perch. Stayed in a fabulous fully equipped and luxurious bungalow and the restaurant was great. Big thank you to all the great and fun staff who made us feel very welcome and were so helpful. It is a beautiful location and if you are there in August a must see is the mad firework fiesta in Fayon…. Very original and lots of fun with lots of drinking and dancing.. viva España and port Massaluca and big thanks to Yvan a great knowledgable fishing guide. ...

My wife and I had been on a driving holiday in Catalunya and decided to break up the driving, by a stop over at Porta Massaluca. ||The bungalows were "used" but spotlessly clean and great accommodation.||It was mid September and there were no mossies or other biting insects ( Great for me who can attract every mossie in 5 miles)||The guided fishing was slow but resulted in my personal best carp carp.||The camp is isolated but with good road access (new roads curtesy of the EU?)||What a place to forget life's stress's and strains so peaceful and scenic BUT remember nobody does mornings in this part of spain, fishing appears to start midday and finishes well after dark (22.00 to 24.00).||The restaurant what a find! Slightly europeanised Catalan cooking at value for money prices. I can't rate it highly enough considering its geographical isolation....do try the salads and deep fried fresh...

I arrived in my 5 mt Camper van, already pre- booked in the site. A very friendly Reception staff. Also very helpful with a quick tour of the site. Very clean facilities with a Bar/Cafe/ Restaurant. Showers and Flush toilets on site were exceptionally clean and well maintained. I went away fishing on the river near Fayon during the day, returning to my reserved pitch in the evening. The site felt very secure during the night. Unfortunately I was called away back to my Home in Calpe Alicante, for a family medical emergency. After leaving the site, my Camper Van suffered a Catastrophic Engine failure. After slowly returning to the site entrance, Sabrina the evening Receptionist did a super job in directing a Grúa Recovery Vehicle to the Camp. I can’t thank her enough. A very professional receptionist. I hope to return at a later date sometime in the future. Regards,...
