This year ,we visited El Castel de Ciutat to spend New Years, and I can confidently say it was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had! From the moment I arrived, the service was impeccable. I would like to personally commend Mr. Emilio Ruiz, the director, for the exceptional way the hotel is managed, as everything ran like clockwork. Special mention also goes to Mis Victoria Solaeche, the reception manager, who greeted us warmly and ensured every aspect of our stay was seamless. Her professionalism and attention to detail were truly remarkable. The food was simply outstanding. The restaurant offered a variety of dishes, all prepared with fresh ingredients and presented beautifully. Whether it was the hearty breakfast or the exquisite dinners, every meal felt like a culinary journey. Compliments to the chef and the kitchen team for their skill and creativity. The service throughout the hotel was top-notch. Every member of the staff was friendly, attentive, and eager to help, which made us feel welcome and cared for at all times. The ambiance of the hotel is also worth mentioning – the elegant yet cozy design created the perfect environment for relaxation. I highly recommend El Castel de Ciutat to anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable stay. It’s clear that the leadership and staff take immense pride in their work, and it shows in every detail. Thank you, Emilio and Victoria, for making our stay unforgettable! We’ll...
Read moreFirst and foremost we really enjoyed our short stay, this is a beautiful hotel and in a beautiful location.||The hotel re opened at the back end of May after being closed since Covid, as a result there are ongoing improvements and renovations taking place to improve and upgrade facilities. ||When we visited there were only a few guests and the hotel was well under occupancy, the roof is currently being replaced and various groundwork’s being undertaken and general improvements taking place. ||The staff and the management were friendly and engaging and you can see there is a real desire to get this place back to where it used to be. ||A few small issues but nothing major, some of the fixtures and fittings were looking tired and in need of replacement and with such a stunning pool area, you would hope they make more effort to remove the weeds around the pool, replace damaged tiles and utilise the small cabin for drinks and food options. ||We didn’t use the spa or the restaurant but I’m led to believe both were excellent, albeit very quiet upon our visit. ||I can only hope that visitor numbers pick up now the hotel has the staff and investment it needed to bring it back to former glories and people take advantage of what is without doubt the hotel with the most potential for...
Read moreWe are spending a long weekend here. The hotel has an old fashioned style, but is well maintained, with beautiful views across the valley.||Food quality is good, both for dinner and breakfast. So up to here everything is good. Perhaps not exactly Relais & Chateaux level, but not too far...||However, there is a serious problem with staff management in the restaurant. There is a very exciteable lady who is clearly overburdened with the task of managing the staff of a restaurant, and has a clear view of how she likes things, as opposed to what her clients want. Guests are seated at a the table according to her ideas (“the lady should sit here”), or sent outside to wait until her staff has cleaned the tables in the restaurant and then forgotten for 30mins...||It is actually entertaining (Fawlty Towers style) if you are not in a hurry and have a good sense of humor, but it is clearly stressfil to staff and those guests who are in a hurry. ||Also, there are quite a number of families with small children for a hotel...
