The hostel was built only two years ago, so it’s in a new and modern condition. We were also able to bring our dog, and they were very friendly toward him. It’s perfectly located for those doing the Camino, in a quiet area surrounded by nature. One positive aspect is the on-site restaurant: the food was nice, and the prices were fair.

However, it was quite noisy. You could hear everything your neighbors were doing, as well as the sound of running water— even from the kitchen. At night, when the guests went to bed, the hotel staff gathered on the terrace just outside the rooms, chatting and watching videos on their phones. The rooms themselves are also very small, with barely enough space to walk around. The breakfast was very simple, and you had to ask at the bar for even the most basic things, like orange juice.

Overall, I would come back, but I would make sure to book a room that isn’t on the side of the reception/kitchen, as that’s where the terrace and kitchen...

We stayed at this Casa for only 1 night on our Camino hike towards Santiago de Compostela and were overwhelmed by the hospitality of the owner, Hernando and his staff. |The property is on the outskirts of the Spanish town of Melide, on the trail of the Camino. |Take a left turn and walk past some large stables on the left ( ignore the strong smell of compost) and further down the path, you will find the most glorious property, surrounded by greenery and birds that sing all through the day. |There is a beautiful patio where you can have a drink or dinner and relax. |A part of the stables have been converted into pristine bedrooms with their own private |bathrooms. |Ask the owner to show you the old quarters where there is a treasure trove of family memories dating as far back as World War II. |We had a wonderful stay and wish we had booked an extra night at...

The place is brand new and I am sure that it will get even better with some time and experience. They need to solve some details about heat and ventilation in summer, but the house and the sorroundings are amazing. We will visit it again in winter.
