On a long road trip, I had been unable to find, literally, my first two choices of hotels closer to Granada. I decided to just keep riding out, and see what happened. (This is a very risky strategy that I don't recommend.)||||After seeing a few truly scary places on the way, Escudo rose up from the curve in its red tiles, and I knew it was at least a good bet. Note, by the way, that this review is based on the fact that it is a ONE star hotel. ||||The staff have a bit of english, but are absolutely incredibly friendly and welcoming. the room is spotlessly clean, but it is a bit dated, as would be expected from a one-star hotel. Standing there arguing that it couldn’t possibly come to that amount, we were finally reimbursed €4. someone clearly has no clue or spots a foreign face and thinks they can charge what they want for a crap salad and small plate of meat veg and sloppy potatoes. ||Won’t be eating or drinking there again or recommending any of...
Read moreWe spent three nights here while on a property search around the area. The staff and locals alike were all very friendly and welcoming. Our Spanish language skills need some polishing up but we managed to get through. After all we are in Spain so why would they speak Ingles. The room was clean and tidy and was cleaned daily for us. The food and drinks were cheap and tasty. A free different tapas with every beer (what’s not to like). So all in all a very pleasant stay....
