We have just returned from Real La Joya on our 4th consecutive visit. As usual the surroundings and accommodation were all wonderful. We have always been met with a warm welcome by the manager Isabel but was told when booking in that she was no longer there, this was a big disappointment as she was a real asset to the hotel. We hoped that the standards set by Isabel would still be there, however, we were a little saddened not to be welcomed by the new manager who whilst pleasant did not purvey any real warmth and was lacking by her presence. We always looked forward to eating at the hotel on the nights the restaurant was open, however this year, we only ate there twice, this was due in part to the lack of atmosphere and the solo waiter who needed some lessons in refinement. The hotel appears to have lost its heart and soul and needs to get back on track. The beach bar was however a real credit to the management, we were very well looked after by Fan, Jose and Medina and we were sorry to say our goodbyes, the beach bar is 100% better than last year due to the wonderful staff that ran it and the food was delicious. We do hope the hotel can get back to where it was, it’s certainly a special place for serious rest and...

We spent 8 days and nights at this lovely und extraordinary place and we really have to say that it exceeded all our expectations by far. Starting with the team – lead by the wonderful Isabel! It seemed that they anticipated all our wishes and we were overwhelmed by their hospitality. Every morning started with a breakfast by the pool which we will miss for a long time. There was plenty of fresh fruits, eggs cooked the way you want them, fresh orange juice, little Tapas …. name it all…! The evening dinner was so delicious, that we didn´t make it to the local restaurants. On the day we left, we had to check out so early, that we missed breakfast and of course we had a breakfast basket decorated and filled with everything we would need for our trip home – unbelievable! The Room, the big pool and the whole place is clean and very tasteful and lovely decorated. If you take a walk around you will pass a beautiful landscape and you usually end up at a beach with crystal clear blue water, which is almost as empty as the rest of this part of Spain. This place is simply magic!!! We finally want to say thank you to the whole team for an unforgettable stay and we are coming...

The overall experience was very good. My Spanish is limited to maybe 200-300 words (which is not a lot to be honest) but the staff was very accommodating. The place was very clean and very peaceful. The breakfast was much better than I expected. The hotel is built around a hill so there is a nice view of the pretty countryside. One of the oldest olive trees in the Mediterranean area is located in a valley behind the hotel which is worth checking out since it’s close by. The beach is very close and is technically a short walk or bike ride (the hotel offers bikes for use), but it’s along a hilly road with not much room to spare for walking. It is highly recommended to have a car. Getting a cab requires a ton of advanced reservation as it’s not near a major city center. If you want to stay at a nice hotel in the countryside, I would definitely recommend staying here.

We spent 2 marvellous nights at this place. It is very quiet and relaxing, not noises at all, a perfect exterior jacuzzi with nature views and a large pool, plus a great outdoors breakfast. The key for our stay was Vanesa, before the reservation she was helpful and gave us a great advice about rooms, dinner, local places to visit, etc. With so much internet reservations having someone so helpful in a more "traditional" way was great for us. We will repeat for sure. Thanks Vanesa!

A super resort to spend a relaxing break. The room was really good, clean and plenty of space. The food was top quality served by very attentive staff who couldn’t do enough to make your stay enjoyable. Excellent pool with hot tub overlooking the sea and beautiful surroundings. The beach is a 5 minute drive to the small resort of Agua Armarga where there are good bar’s restaurants and shops if you need them
