What a great find. Can not recommend this place enough. From the moment we arrived Anthony was very helpful showing me the rooms that where available. After finally choosing the biggest one with a lovely terrace great views to the River Mino we knew that we where going to be able to relax in this lovely homely Hotel. Everything worked as it should and the Wifi worked too. We eat there the first night we arrived and Omg what lovely yummy food. Anthony is a great cook and for the price of €19 per person we set off on a 3 course plus a lovely jug of local wine. If you would like more please ask as they will offer it to you. The breakfast was superb too everything is organic, and boy I have never tasted natural yogurt like it before and the eggs, bread, orange juice etc and I could carry on and on. In all if you are ever in Galicia don't forget to visit Ourense and this hotel is a great location to explore the Ribeira Sacra (famous for its wines!) or even Galicia itself . Anthony and his lovely wife Natach make you feel like one more of the family, nothing is too much for this young couple. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable ....and we will be back soon. Regards from Malaga...
Read moreWe stayed here at the recommendation of Spanish friends , it was a delight . Picturesque setting high above the river and main road .Our room on the 2nd level ( stairs only) was gorgeous with a little alcove with table and chairs . The outside hallway had Bougainvillea trained along so was picturesque. Dinner , in the outside seating area( summer) which itself deserves a photo, was very nice and we were served by a friendly lady and by Anthony( the owner's) son who was very good and happy to try his English on us, which made it very personable Nice touches include the blankets on the chairs for guests use .it was cold at night- due to the location in the Canyon.access is down a steep drive- parking very limited but there was plenty of space up on the road. You need to have dinner there as there are no other options nearby, Ourense 20 minutes away...
Read moreStayed here with friends whilst touring the Ribera Sacra wine region. Had a good experience but we ended up doing a lot of driving as the Wineries we wanted to visit (English speaking ) were not near. |We took the evening meal option on our first night which was well cooked and good value with wine included but not typical food of the region. |We paid for a superior room but couldn't see how this was any better than the double our friends booked - they also had a better view and a fridge, but we had a larger bathroom. |Nice to have a plunge pool to dip your feet in at the end of a long hot day. |Nowhere else in the village to eat or drink so we went into Orense the second eve for Pinchos. |Very nice breakfast and plenty of it, although the same both days and no eggs. |Great value and would...
