We stayed here one night (our first night after a verrrry long day of walking from Ferrol) while doing the Camino. Good location, as it's right on the path, and thank God for that because given the mountain you have to climb to get there, it would've been devastating if it'd taken us off course even the slightest bit! ||||The hotel is very clean and bright. Our reservation was for one room with 2 twin beds, but when we got there, we were given a room with one full size bed and a cot. Not ideal. But after 18 miles of walking, we were just happy to have a place to sleep. The next morning though, we discovered--while chatting with 2 other guests at breakfast--that they'd reserved one room with a single bed and been given--you guessed it--one room with 2 twins. In the end everything was fine, but I'm not sure why we weren't switched once the staff realized the error. Anyway, the room was nice--bright, comfortable, super clean, with a couple of lovely balconies on the windows.||||Breakfast the next morning was lovely (the standard Spanish breakfast of jamon, bread, cake, tomate or jam, and coffee/fresh juice). I can't have gluten and had notified them in advance, so when we arrived while we didn't get our 2 twin beds, I did get a whole loaf of GF bread just for me! That was great. The woman working (Mari--so funny and nice) made sure we had everything we needed. Heads up though that the staff we interacted with didn't speak English, so make sure you have some Spanish to communicate here! Mari sent us away in the morning with tons of cake, a few oranges, and lots of laughs.||||FYI that if you're using Google maps as you climb up through the narrow Pontedeume streets to get to Montebreamo, it'll tell you to go up and around the building to get to the front door. But that's not necessary; there's a door on the...
Read moreOur one-night stay at Hotel Montebreamo was simply delightful. Maria and Ramon, the owners, are the epitome of hospitality—warm, gracious, and incredibly accommodating.
The hotel itself exudes charm, with cozy rooms that make you feel right at home. Its prime location right on the Camino Ingles was perfect for our journey. Although the walk down into Pontedeume's centro felt completely safe, even at night.
One of the highlights of our stay was the homemade hearty breakfast served in the morning—a delicious start to the day. Additionally, Maria went above and beyond when we accidentally left my ATM card behind. She promptly sent it to me by mail in Barcelona, demonstrating her kindness and care.
During our visit, I also purchased a homemade walking stick for the Camino, adding to the memorable experience. It's evident that running the hotel is a labor of love for Maria and Ramon, and their passion shines through in every aspect of their hospitality.
Feeling so welcomed and well-cared-for, I can't wait to return to Hotel Montebreamo. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a charming and...

We were late arriving, and Maria had waited for us (sorry!) but even so she was so friendly, and even figured out by looking at our passports that our plan was to arrive in Santiago on my 30th Birthday!
In the morning she made us a fantastic breakfast of all different kinds of things, and even sent us on the way with fruit and cakes for the road - which were a lifesaver on the walk to Betanzos that day.
The Montebreamo is also directly on the Camino Ingles route, a little uphill from the centre of Pontedueme. Although you might curse the extra bit of hill on your first camino day, the next morning you will be grateful to already be...
