We wanted to get out of Sandiago De Compostellla and see some of the country side; we felt that the prices for many of the smaller hotels looked a little high and we wanted some place well priced, in a nice little town with internet. We found all of this here in this hotel. It took two buses out of Sandiago, one to Noya and the second to Porto De Son. We were met by Javier who runs the hotel, and he was wonderful from start to finish. Friendly and helpful. ||||Our room was big and airy, window to the front, spotless, plenty of towels, very comfortable beds and extra pillows on request. The mattress and pillows are memory foam, so very comfortable. Internet was a little difficult to hook into at first, but that can happen with Apple, once in – not a major problem and it worked consistently well. Had to go down to reception on second day again to get my Mac to find the hotel, but than worked fine in the room. ||||The sun did not shine while we were here, but it was lovely even to listen to the rain and the sea gulls from our room. There is a square beside the hotel, with a couple of bars and they are lovely for beer, wine and tapas. The hotel has a resturant, great for fish. There are plenty of other resturants and bars in Porto Do Son. There is a nice little walk down in the port and a beach. Javier gave us a guide book of the area and if you are a walker there are some interesting places you can walk to within a 8 -10 Km round trip. We were only planning on a one night stop over and we stayed three. Would have stayed longer but the hotel was booked for a regatta. Would recommend this hotel for comfort and price, its...
Read morestayed in this little hotel for four nights at the end of October. While we were there it rained and rained and rained...but Fernando, the manager, kept us ocupied. |When we arrived we had to find him in the local bar, also run by the same family who run the hotel, he was just finishing his lunch but left it to book us in. His english is as good as our spanish but with the aid of a translation website we enjoyed several long conversations with him over the stay!|The hotel was clean and tidy but was lacking anywhere in the rooms to dry clothes. Breakfasts were continental but plentiful and Fernando was very good at finding huge croissants!|Life in the town centers around the fishing port although in better weather I am sure there is a beach to enjoy. We eat in either the bar owned by the hotel, great seafood, or a little restaurant run by a nurse just around the corner, great veggie food...rare in Galicia!|Plenty to see and do in the area if you are happy walking and exploring...and it is not...
Read moreMy partner and I checked in for one night to enable us to stay and enjoy the sun and sea a little longer. |The hotel has a great location in the middle of the pretty fishing town of Porto do son. We checked in with no problems having parked the car by the docks. The room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was fine, with a shower and a little bath. You have wifi in the room and the lobby should you need it.||We decided to have dinner in the restaurant in the evening and had the special which is a lobster with rice dish. It was fantastic!! Make sure you are hungry as the portion is huge!! ||The staff were very friendly and we enjoyed chatting with them at the bar after the meal.||Overall a good little spot to stay in a truly...
