Camping Rinlo Costa — Hotel in Ribadeo

I came upon this campsite on Google when looking for somewhere close to Cathedrals Beach and previous reviews looked promising. We loved it here! It is a new site, with only 47 flat pitches and a couple of bungalows, and when we visited in early May we had it pretty much to ourselves. It has a lovely new facilities block with plentiful hot water and is run by the delightful Belen and her husband Pedro. They were charming and friendly and genuinely couldn't have been more helpful to us when the front propshaft on our BMW broke resulting in a stay of 13 nights rather than 4! ||||We were travelling with a dog and the surrounding area was perfect for walks with him - just a few minutes along country tracks to the rocky coast and coastal path and within easy walking distance of Rinlo, a picture postcard pretty fishing village with a few good restaurants and a great bar for drinks/coffee. Cathedrals Beach was only a few miles away (check for low tide times with Belen before you go!) and Ribadeo was also worth a visit, as were Mondonedo and Taramundi up in the hills behind. We also managed to visit A Coruna and Santiago de Compostela from here in a hire car while ours was repaired.||||All in all, I am glad that our breakdown happened here - it is a very lovely area and Belen and Pedro made what was a very stressful situation much more pleasant. I do not think we would have received that level of help anywhere else on our trip....

We wanted to visit Ribadeo and Cathedral beach and found this site almost by accident. It is just on the outskirts of the delightful fishing village Rinlo, 4kms walk or cycle to Cathedral Beach and 6kms cycle/walk to Ribadeo. The site is brand new, quite small and open. Lots of trees planted which will help in time. The facilities block is new and very nice - only complaint would be in the showers where there is not a separate area in the shower cubicles to put clothes. Very peaceful and quiet - especially on our visit in early Oct when there were only two motorhomes on the site. Definitely a good stop on this beautiful coast. Very nice campsite. Clean facilities, good price and super relaxing. Also the little restaurant was very good. I recommend the 'tortilla de patatas', delicious! Little place but super organized and personalized, they don't try to sell more places that they have. Also the position is very good, very near to a little town called Rinlo which is fascinating and only 1/1:30 hours of walk for 'Ribadeo' or la 'Playa de la Catredales' through a very nice trail along the sea (the camping also offers bikes for rent). The only few downsides are the absence of shadow due to very little trees and the fact that the staff speaks very few English (but we managed to understand everything very well, an opportunity of learning few Spanish words!...
