This is an amazing hotel to stay in. I needed a short solo break following some difficult times in my life, and was looking to stay in a quiet, relaxed place not in a big tourist resort. GA7Colores is exactly that.
The location is so peaceful, it's in the middle of the island and not in a city so you're not surrounded by big hotels, bars etc. The hotel is also adults only which helps with the relaxation vibe.
If you drive, you're about 10-20 minutes away from shops, beaches and even the airport and possibly not much more than that if you're after sightseeing - that's not what I did on my trip so I can't comment on what is worth seeing, but I did notice there's e.g. a national park with volcanoes that looked really interesting to visit.
If you don't drive, which I don't either, you can either ask the owners to drive you for a small fee, take a taxi or take the bus. There is a bus stop about 10 minutes from the hotel, and it is fine, however it took me a long time to get anywhere when I needed to change to another bus - if they're full they just don't stop, so you have to wait for the next one, and it can take a long time to get to where you're going. It's doable, and cheap, just prepare for it to potentially take a while to get to your destination. :)
The finca itself is very tastefully decorated, you can really see how much thought the owners put into making the place beautiful. My room felt so luxurious. There is also a pool, a jacuzzi, a gym and a restaurant on site. The breakfasts were great, I also ate in the restaurant once or twice in the evening. They cook fresh Italian food, which was great. And the owners have a few friendly cats and dogs wandering around, plus parrots, so that was also great! As a solo woman traveller, I felt safe there.
Overall I can't recommend GA7Colores enough, and I hope to be back one day for a more active holiday to see more of Lanzarote - while still enjoying the peace of this...
Read moreI'm not sure if the previous reviews stayed at the same hotel or they were friends of the owners but my experience was far different. I actually checked out 4 days early because it was so bad. The one owner is absolutely rude and should not be in the hospitality industry. One has to ask three or four times for soap after 2 days they fold the wet towels in your room and just stack them so they never dry. The owners and staff smoke in the dining room so when you walk in that's all you smell and see. When I asked for some ice cubes it was like asking I can't even describe it. I ended up buying my own ice at the grocery store. My room was not as described it did not have a washer it did not have a separate entrance and it only had one window that opened the rest looked into a living room so there was very little natural light. The location is nice but that's the only thing this place has going for it. I'm so glad I left there early it was just depressing.i just saw their response. I don't drink alcohol or smoke. Just crazy they...
