A Wedding Dream Come True at Finca Monasterio

We recently had the absolute joy and privilege of getting married at Finca Monasterio and we can wholeheartedly say it was the most magical experience of our lives. Over the course of two unforgettable days, we were surrounded by our closest family and friends in one of the most stunning, serene, and picturesque settings imaginable.

From the moment we arrived, the warmth and professionalism of the Finca Monasterio team blew us away. Every single member of staff was incredible, attentive, thoughtful, and always going the extra mile to make us and our guests feel cared for and relaxed. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and it truly felt like everyone was invested in making our day perfect.

A special thank you to Emily and the wonderful planning team, whose support throughout the months leading up to the wedding was exceptional. Their attention to detail, calm guidance, and genuine passion for what they do made the entire process seamless and stress-free. On the day itself, everything flowed effortlessly…a true testament to their experience and dedication.

The venue itself is simply breathtaking. Finca Monasterio’s grounds are like something out of a fairytale - lush, vibrant, and lovingly maintained. Every corner holds beauty and charm, making it not only the perfect setting for a wedding but also an amazing place to spend a weekend celebrating. Our guests are still talking about how incredible it all was.

The rooms were another highlight, stunningly decorated, immaculately kept, and so authentic to the venue’s timeless style. It felt luxurious yet welcoming, with every comfort thought of. Our guests loved the opportunity to stay on site and be part of the celebration from start to finish.

And of course, the pool area became a hub of relaxation and laughter, especially the day after the wedding. It was the perfect space for everyone to unwind, enjoy the sunshine, and soak in the special atmosphere of the weekend.

To the entire team at Finca Monasterio: thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You gave us one of the greatest memories we will ever share. It was a once-in-a-lifetime celebration and we owe so much of that to your hard work and care.

We would highly recommend Finca Monasterio to anyone dreaming of a destination wedding. It’s more than a venue, it’s an experience, and one we will treasure forever.

With all our love and gratitude, The Happiest Bride...

One of the most traumatic experiences of my life – avoid this place at all costs.

In September 2024, I suffered a serious injury in room 7 at Finca Monestaro when the glass shower door collapsed on me. The hinge at the top-right corner popped off suddenly, causing the entire door to collapse, causing me to slip and fall face-first onto the glass door, hitting my face and head on the way down. I was completely naked and in extreme pain, and unable to stand for 30 minutes.

An ambulance was called, but the hotel staff provided no further support — they told me to “figure out how to get back”. I had to pay for my own taxi return, still dazed and disoriented. When I returned, the door had been put back, not repaired, not secured. I was diagnosed with a mild concussion and had visible bruising across my face and hands. Despite this, the hospital report falsely stated I had no injuries, limiting my ability to seek legal compensation. To make matters worse, hospital staff treated me with condescension and assumed I had been intoxicated — I have been sober for over five years, and I was completely sober at the time of the accident.

I was eventually paid €1600 by the hotel's insurance, but no amount of money accounts for the chronic pain and trauma I continue to live with to this day.

I’m writing this review 8 months after the incident, and I am still in pain. I’ve been in regular treatment with an osteopath and physiotherapist ever since. I can no longer enjoy basic movement, yoga, or exercise. I’m still physically and emotionally affected. The experience was not just damaging — it was life-altering.

To make matters worse, this accident ruined my entire holiday. I had travelled for the wedding of a close friend, and I couldn’t even enjoy the celebration — I was in pain, disoriented, and deeply shaken. Instead of making memories with people I love, I spent the rest of the trip dealing with the aftermath of the hotel’s negligence.

The only reason they even comped our stay or moved our room was because I formally complained. Their handling of the incident was careless and dismissive.

If you're considering staying here, ask yourself: What happens if something goes wrong? Because for me, it did—and it changed my life. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

We had our wedding here in May 2022. The venue is beautiful, ethereal, quiet and off the grid. Perfect to be present with loved ones. It’s peaceful, and the gardens are beautiful for going for a walk. The hotel catering is great with delicious dinner options and the breakfast in the morning is made to order and feels really homely/personal. The wedding itself went incredibly. Emily and the team were extremely attentive to detail and we couldn’t have had a more perfect day. The rooms are also spacious, with plenty of space for guests to stay at the venue, and well ventilated in the summer. The gardens give the venue a fresh and beautiful aroma from all the flowers that grow outside the rooms too. The pool and facilities are also very well looked after and great for relaxing. A short drive to Sotogrande and Gibraltar, it’s the perfect getaway.

We got married here at the end of May 2024, and couldn’t have asked for a better venue! Emily thank you SO much for all of your help you were a superstar, and thank you to all the staff the day of the wedding, they were all amazing, so friendly and made sure our glasses were always full. The venue itself is stunning, love how there are different areas so you’re not in the same place the entire time. The food was also incredible, so many of our guests commented saying how good it was. We would highly recommend getting an aperol spritz, margarita and espresso martini bar, they were a hit! The venue is also dog friendly which we love!! Thank you to everyone at Finca Monasterio for making our wedding day extra special!
