Location & Transport I booked my 7 night stay in 2 hotels. This hotel was first of them. When landed in Barcelona I came to know that the name Bluebay Hotel Barcelona Sant Cugat is misleading name because Sant Cugat is a different city about 26 kilometer of Barcelona. So adding Barcelona in name was use in bad faith to attract more visitors. Even the hotel is not in Sant Cugat but in remote area from the city in a business part. No shop or no transportation near the hotel. One must walk 1.1 Kilometer to the nearest station Sant Joan or be lucky enough to get a taxi that costs about Eur 10 per trip. There are a few taxis and for limited time and we had on 4 days just once a taxi that too via the Hotel. Someone said to go back to Barcelona by train and get a taxi there (about Eur 60). I it was a complete remote hotel experience.
Budget hotel, not 4 star On Expedia this hotel advertises as 4 star but it is actually a budget hotel. That you will notice right at the reception as it has hardly 4m x 4m room which is lobby but is too simple. 1 per serves the reception with no any other facility. We were so shocked that we had to ask where we are at the right hotel. I even wanted to cancel the reservation by calling Expedia but Hotel staff (Elicio) didn’t fulfil his promise to arrange cancellation for the next 3 nights. There was lack of co-ordination between day and night staff. The hotel is way too simple and can no way be called luxurious. The amenities like tennis had strange conditions to book in advance and bring your own stuffs. The hotel has a restaurant nearby and offers foods (like fried Solomon fish with sweet saus). It was expensive and not tasty.
The room The room is Ok and looked from every corner that we are staying at a budget hotel (imagine Ibis Budget hotel). Small working table, small bed and almost no other amenities. Comfort was not at all. Shower was half open and water overflows after every shower you take. The was a washbasin joined to a small kitchenette in the room and an unknown branded microwave fitted above it. However it didn’t give much comfort but it was a great help in such remote area where you need to carry and warm small food items.
Conclusion I really have nothing to praise for this hotel and of course will avoid and advise to avoid going to this hotel or this place if you mean Barcelona. It is good budget accommodation for people who have car. The hotel is overpriced and overrated. And we had really a bad time. We realized this more when we came to a 5 star hotel that was really a 5 star hotel. I also saw the hotel reacting on my negative check-in experience and suggested to walk to the reception to make it good. They made it no good but the lady at reception communicated wrongly to the taxi driver sending me somewhere else than intended. One can’t make things good...

This was the finest of experiences I have ever had at a hotel. Even before our trip had begun, the holiday vibe had already started, 2 weeks prior to our flight. A member of hotel reception staff at the B&B in Sant Cugat, a beautiful soul, a lady by the name of Maria Fátima R had won us over with her swift responses to our queries and concerns. The more we responded, the more our mind and hearts were at ease. Always polite and courteous with so much manners and always ready to help us with whatever we presented her with. 2 weeks fast forward - We were welcomed with her sincere wholesome smile and she already knew who we were as soon as she saw is approaching the reception desk. This is someone who is connected with herself and showed is compassion from the get-go. She served us as though she was the leader and she didn't let us feel uncomfortable even though we didn't speak much Spanish. She showed us to our room and told us to feel free to ask her should we need anything. We had a slight situation with our air-condition unit and within 10 minutes she had that resolved by giving us an extra room until the maintenance man fixed the A/C. The second room was beautiful and I slept their for 2 days and it was a great experience. Fátima called taxi's for us, ordered food for us, she translated Spanish to English and she even guided us towards the best tourist spots. It really felt like she had gone above and beyond, at no extra cost. Even the kids were saying they wanted to buy her something as a thank you present for her amazing service and beautiful mannerism. Fâtima R was incredibly professional, compassionate and offered such a lovely service that we all fell in love with Spain (Barcelona) and would love to go back, just for experiencing this service again. Fâtima R is much more than a lady behind the reception desk and I hope you all the best in the future and I hope you progress to become something bigger and better and that others are also receptive enough to appreciate you. Thank you Maria Fátima R for being such a wonderful host and your hospitality is so very appreciated.
We all Look forward to visiting you real soon.
Have a beautiful life and I wish you nothing but the best in this life and the next.
