This was quite an odd hotel as there was lots to love...and then lots we didn't like. It was also a bit like a residential complex (maybe it is). Let's start with the positives.|The complex is lovely and clean and spacious. The pool area has lots of space and sunbeds which is rare in high season. It was busy some days but never ever over crowded and there are lots of seats dotted around if you don't want to lie on a sunbed.|V close to Cala llenya beach which we loved . Bit of a difficult walk down to it though - through the hills and gravel paths so not great with buggies etc. |Sea views all around. Felt like a very tranquil environment. ||Main issue - food and location. |Food. We went half board but would not recommend this. It isn't a buffet - it's a restaurant that you order from same menu each night. But dinner is truly shocking. Small portions and bad quality. It sometimes felt like microwaved pasta or reheated dishes. No real kids menu or anything. Breakfast has a small (v small) continental buffet and you have to order eggs/bacon etc. It's also not really a restaurant - its just a section near the pool . LIke a snack bar. The main issue with not going half board is that there is nothing nearby. The hotel is really remote (i mean REMOTE) Just one restaurant down the road then it is taxis to anywhere else which you have to order at reception as there are none nearby. And reception is only open during the day. (Cala nova is great and just 7 mins cab ride). ||It is a shame as there are some hard working staff on site and it is a lovely peaceful place to stay for a week with decent size rooms. But just a pretty awful food situation that let it...
Read moreThe hotel consists of a village of aesthetically pleasing apartments situated high up on the cliffs overlooking the picturesque bay of Cala Llenya. Surrounding the apartments is a lush garden that completes the reality of nature. The main pool is a generous size and is adjoined by a toddlers pool. There was always sun loungers available during our stay. Cala Llenya has a beautiful sandy beach with aquamarine waters and is less than 10 minutes walk from the hotel. The apartment has everything you need for a self catering stay in Ibiza. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking and eating equipment. The entire place was sparkling clean and well maintained by the attentive staff. Erica and her team do a fantastic job of creating both a relaxing and exciting atmosphere at exactly the desired moment. Entertainment for the kids is great; Xavi is the friendliest and funnest guy that the kids absolutely love. The team put on an amazing fire show which is not to be missed! All the staff are genuinely warm and helpful, and it feels like a big family who love the place and their work. Other facilities at the hotel include tennis courts and a gym. There is also a restaurant which looks great, but we didn't try because we catered for ourselves. I would recommend hiring a car for the duration of your stay because Ibiza has so many beautiful beaches and much more to offer, that would be had to see without your own transport. Local tips include Anita's Tapas bar in San Carles and The hippy market at Punt Arabi on Wednesdays. Overall Club Cala Azul is the Perfect place for a relaxing family holiday. Highly...
Read moreAs a single parent I wanted a place that the kids could enjoy and I wouldn't have to do a lot of self catering and it was the half board option that appealled. I'll be honest I wasn't sure if the food would be up to standard but after our first evening meal I was pleasantly surprised. The choice wasn't large but I enjoyed the a la carte menu and other than a few exceptions (our poor choice not food quality) the food was interesting and had been cooked with care. ||||The a la carte menu meant that me and the kids could have a proper sit down evening meal that allowed us to talk and enjoy each others company rather than the usual dash and eat that a buffet style can create. The bottle of wine with the meal was also a nice treat. ||||The rooms were clean and basic, with air conditioning and fans. The pool was very large and clean. And although there was kids entertainment and other facilities that we didn't use such as tennis courts and gym the best bit (as far as the kids were concerned) was the walk down to the jetty to do snorkelling. ||||We went during the Covid period so the place was very restful and quiet so perfect for what I wanted but I don't know how it might feel busier, it could be a bit rammed around the pool. ||||The beach is a short walk away but would prove problematic if you had small kids (under 6).||||Overall we were very pleased...
