⭐ 2/5 I’ve stayed at Hurricane Hotel many times over the years, and I used to love it – especially back when it was a simple two-star hotel. Back then, the value was excellent and the atmosphere felt warm and genuine.

Sadly, since the upgrade to four stars, the experience has gone downhill. Expectations rise with the rating, but the hotel no longer meets even my modest expectations. Service feels understaffed and inconsistent, and it’s not enough to just raise the prices and update a few things in the rooms.

A special mention to Susanna at reception – she’s amazing and always goes the extra mile for guests. But one person alone can’t carry the weight of a four-star hotel. Management should really visit a proper four-star hotel like Parador in Ronda or Ayamonte to see how it’s done – even simple things like having two staff members at reception at all times make a huge difference.

Do NOT book the hamam. It’s poorly maintained and absolutely not worth the money – more like a damp room with some steam.

This place still has great potential because of its location and history. I’m sharing this review with genuine hope that the owners take it to heart and bring back the quality and soul that once made...

Great ambiance and a very nice hotel. Is a good place to go if you want to get away from everything and have some relaxing time. Nice beach in front of the hotel and pools ( 2 available). Nice relaxing area. Great breakfast with a good variety of food. Dinner is good, a bit pricey but the evening waiters should be better organized. Wine received at the middle of our main course. The waiter suggested the wine and then asked us twice if we have chosen some wine. After we finished the starter he asked us again and brought the wine he suggested, when he took our order, during our main course. Both waiters were running around when there were only 8 tables and most of them almost finished their main course and kept looking annoyed when asked anything by the customers. On the other hand, the girls at breakfast are very helpful and nice. The rooms are nice, the beds and pillows not very comfortable. Could do...

Stayed for three nights with friends-|We had rooms facing the sea but like other reviews have said we could not actually see the sea due to the lovely trees and plants |The gardens and grounds of this hotel are beautiful - you can’t help but relax.|The bed was firm and comfortable with good pillows- room was very clean but the plumbing when running the shower could be noisy and ‘clunky’ at times! ||Hotel itself is about 7kms from Tarifa walkable in an hour or so along the beach, hold onto your hat though as when we walked along the wind was very strong! ||We ate dinner at the hotel restaurant on our first night and found the food so good we booked again to eat for a second night- it’s such a lovely setting.||We found all of the staff very friendly and we would...

A great location on a headland above a beach. The restaurant, open a.m. to 4pm is on the tip of this headland and consequently has 180° views of the entire Strait of Gibraltar, specifically opposite Tangiers in Morocco, Africa. The quality of the food is good. You have a choice of one hot (from half a dozen offerings of meat, pasta, or fish) and two cold (from a dozen salads) items. There is a choce of desserts and teas as well as coffee. The regime is strictly self-service, but the system is, in my opinion, well thought-out and convenient. The price is reasonable to low given the great location. The crowd is sporty and cosmopolitan all the year round. Dogs well catered for.

Staying at the Hurricane Hotel has been one of my best hotel experiences so far. The rooms are so clean, practical and functional. Beds are very comfortable and service and staff were friendly and always there to help. Breakfast was amazing, big selection of fruit and different kind of bread, eggs, cheese, tomatoes, fresh produces and it was possible to get soy milk cappuccinos and more drinks. Restaurant was great, we tried delicious fish of the area and tasty meat. The adult swimming pool & spa area is great if you want to relax and really enjoy your free time dedicating time to your body and soul. I cannot wait to go back!
