The view is beautiful and the place is clean, but overall our experience was not positive and it did not feel like staying in a proper B&B. The written house rules clearly state that guests should not eat in the rooms, but may eat in the living room or on the terrace, and that the host would provide dishes and cutlery if guests bring their own food. We followed these rules: we only asked to store a bottle and a pack of ham in the fridge for a couple of hours, and later for two plates and spoons to have dinner. However, the host told us that this created “extra work” for her without any profit, that we were not allowed to have dinner there, and that we should go to town instead. She repeatedly said that this was “her house,” which felt unprofessional for a hospitality business. Several other rules reinforce the feeling that this is more a private home than a guesthouse: • guests must take their own trash to bins along the road; • air conditioning can only be used for one hour in the morning and one hour in the evening, and still costs €3 extra, which is insufficient with 28° during the day; • there is no shared kitchen, only the host’s private kitchen, which guests cannot use; • check-in is only possible from 5 pm; • guests do not get a key to the gate and must inform the host if they return late.
On top of that, the host works from home and regularly does her home office on the terrace, which further reinforced the impression that we were staying in someone’s private house rather than in a guest-friendly B&B. On the positive side, she did allow us to use the washing machine for two towels and kindly lent us a cable to charge a Kindle, which we appreciated. Finally, I strongly believe the host should send a copy of the rules to guests when they book. If we had received them beforehand, we would probably have canceled, since they do not align with the type of relaxing holiday we had in mind.
In summary: the view and cleanliness are good points. Some of the rules feel more like staying in someone’s private home than in professional accommodation. For example, guests are asked to take their own garbage to public bins down the road. Other rules include very limited use of air conditioning (only one hour in the morning and one in the evening, plus €3 extra) and reminders about the high costs of electricity and water. It feels much more like staying in someone’s private home with strict rules rather than in a relaxing and...
Read moreBooked a night through the booking app, the basic 2people room, that had different services listed including a bbq area.
As I asked how are the rules for the bbq área they said that the option we booked didn’t include the bbq use. so i questions them, why listing a service that had different rules? why dont specify it?
The tone of the conversation from their side seemed pretty upset, but im not sure as it seems that the person replying is not spanish so maybe it’s just a way of being.
The day after, the day of the check in, they cancelled my reservation. Now their phone won’t answer my calls and im left with no place for sleep tonight and no explication about it. Not sure what to...
