A total disapointment! Booked this place to celebrate my moms 60's. I had booked for three persons, (all checked in my booking, it was correct) when we came the reservation was only for 2 ppl... |Funny they had even printed my booking where it clearly said three people. ||They could not arrange a room with 2 double beds (which I had booked) so it had to be a room with sleeping on a sofa.|A lot of hairstrays at the floor in the bathroom. And the food was a total distaster!|The primary course was going to be cheese with caramellized onion. When the food came - no caramellized onion.|Second course - it seemed like the tuna was brought from the fridge into the microwave, and smelled like something we had never smelled before, like old fish. The taste was as it looked and smelled like... My brothers pork tenderlion was totally raw inside and the potates was uncooked and cold. |We decided not to eat since it was really a disapointment and go back to the room. When I asked to borrow a wine opener the waitress she said no, and she only had one.|Impressive to only have one opener at a big hotel like this! Just seems like bad service and not help full. I saw they had lights in the gardens and the trees but they were switch off. Saving electricy? I had to ask them to turn on the lights at our terrass cause we didnt see anything when we wanted to dit there since it gets dark at 6.30...||This should be a 4 star hotel and I am sorry to say... NOT WORTH THE MONEY. |The views and surroundings are beautiful thou. And the receptionist was helpful bringing us a wine...

What a beautiful hotel. The setting is amazing with non taxing walks around the grounds. We had a balcony room over looking the gardens which was great. Comfy bed. Outside seating areas were stunning. We ate in the cafe at lunchtime which was not great, we wish we hadn't. It was very basic and was a negative of the hotel. The staff were great though. However, the food in the restaurant was amazing. We were confused though as the starters were as expensive as the main meal and dessert very reasonable. We ordered the cheeseboard as a starter between us and it was plenty for two so maybe the starters are for sharing? I noticed another table ordering a tomato starter and they also shared it so maybe? The restaurant was a little clinical though with big bright lights. Breakfast was well worth the money. One other thing though. The room next to us had a dog which we could hear barking and in the morning the owner let the dog run free on their balcony and it kept coming on to ours and running around us; we had to close the doors to the room to ensure it didn't go in. Very unpleasant. I know dog owners love their dogs but that doesn't mean the rest of us do. What a shame. However, we will definitely...

The location is so beautiful. It seems almost impossible that such beauty exists. Serene, and isolated. The grounds are well kept, the gardens lovely, and the little 15th century Abbey exquisite.

The dinner offerings were delicious - but please note thst there are no lunch offerings on Mondays, which fact is not disclosed on the website. I also (when I did have dinner) disliked the atmosphere of the restaurant: too casual for my taste. Breakfast was fine but nothing exceptional.

For my lunch: the nearest town had nothing opened that I could find: I ended up guzzling gazpacho from a convenience store.

The pool was also beautiful, possibly the most beautiful I've seen in Spain: I typically don't spend time in these, but it was 41 degrees (about 108?) and so I abandoned any idea of hiking.

The caveat, besides no lunch? There were insects in my room, little flies akin to those that live in soggy potting soil...gross. The bathtub was also miniature, not long enough for me to stretch out in (and I'm not tall). I wasn't a fan of the bathroom in general; it seemed ill-planned.

I would come back. Beautiful, beautiful grounds. Just a different room, perhaps. And not...

The last thing you expect in a hotel that was built where a monastery was in the Sierra Nevada wilderness is party music blasting till midnight on the patio right under your room. We couldn't get any sleep and I went thrice requesting to turn down the music or move our rooms to the other side of the hotel. It took them till midnight to cave and give us another room. So we packed and moved all our luggage at midnight to another room, which was far away from the party. Not sure why a hotel like this would allow loud parties till midnight on their patio.

Stayed for 2 nights here on a roadtrip through Spain. Quadruple room with 2 separate bedrooms worked perfectly for 3 of us. Comfortable beds, good AirConditioning, decent wifi. We really enjoyed the refreshing pool, beautiful surroundings and the restaurant with exceptional food and friendly waiter. There is a very nice 7km (2.5hrs) circle hike that we took one morning right from the monastery. Saturday night there was an open air piano concert that we got to enjoy right from the room.
