I've thought and edited this post so many times because it's so much wonderfulness to try to summarize... So just go! Experience it yourself for a beautiful peaceful time. We stayed in the single apartment downstairs with full access to BBQ pit, pool, areas on the property overlooking olive groves and mountains. Magical June time.
Absolutely make the trip here. You'll need to own or rent a car to drive because it's a bit remote. So worth it though. I'm grateful for my husbands ability to maneuver the farm roads, it's a bit narrow and can be daunting but safe if you can use a stick shift confidently.
The care and welcome given by Claire and Steven at Casa de Olivos is exceeding the standard for Spain. It was the end of our trip, I had already felt the friendliness and warmth of the people but we felt this experience was the highlight of the trip.
Claire and Steven absolutely care about their land. They care about being mindful and kind. They care that you have a phenomenal time. They care. You'll be greeted and helped with anything needed. I emailed Claire so many questions and she was so responsive and helpful to create so many cherished experiences.
You have a lovely introduction to the property by Claire and Steve, such sweet and endearing people, they'll provide a run down of the land and provide so many welcoming gifts (snacks, coffee, ice cream, wine, water, jams, butter, their olive oil) and I appreciate a gentle/ mindful nod to water conservation because it's a serious issue and affects a lot in the area. We appreciate the notice to be respectful.
To speak of the time and experiences... Claire will set you up easily with many options. I really appreciate her coordinating and attention to make an easy time.
Thanks to Claire we got to experience:
100% get a massage, it's to your room and one of the best my partner and I have had. It's so expertly done and relieving for tight rope muscles.
A tour of the olive trees that have existed over 1000 years, it was breathtaking. Very ancient feeling. It ends with an olive oil tasting. Quite distinct. The tour is in Spanish but you can still understand enough for English speakers. About an hour and a half total.
Touring the town nearby and grabbing some groceries, eating at recommended restaurants. Perfect.
Pottery tutorial and tour. Harder than it looks but spin a pot by a pro ceramicticts. English is ok but Spanish would be better to understand. We didn't get to take home our creation but fun to spin and see the process.
The property has so many nice views that it makes it hard to decide where to sip your wine. The hosts make so many areas to enjoy. If you want to take it easy and cook at home, the kitchen is well equipped, there's a BBQ pit and the hosts will supply the wood.
Dont want to cook? DO THE PAELLA.
Do want to cook? STILL DO THE PAELLA.
We had a wonderful breakfast but the thing I feel I can't express what magical beauty the casa has brought to our Spain experience.
Let alone some of the best hosts with THE BEST PAELLA we've had this entire 18 day trip! Making me rethink eating meat.
Absolutely magnificent. If not already married, this would be the destination to plant our vows.
We plan to be back again for the olive harvest 2026, but if the harvest doesn't happen, well, we still want to be back!
We bought several small bottles of olive oil for friends and family and a large bottle for ourselves from Casa de Olivios but already feel the urge to re-up some more. I enjoy Casa de Olivios (parcella 59) olive oil over the 1000 year old...
Be kind, visit Casa...
