Casa Os Prados Da Albela was truly a fairytale stay. This peaceful oasis home is in the Tricastela valley which is surrounded by forests, rolling hills and beautiful green fields.||Our trek to Santiago De Compostela on the French Route included staying at wonderful hotels & bed and breakfast cottages for restful stops. ||But our stay at Casa Os Prados Da Albela was unique and magical! ||Teresa the owner picked us up by car from Tricastela and welcomed us for an amazing stay. ||We walked into a lovely stone cottage which had beautiful views of the mountain and green pasture.||Treking for five days straight along the French route we were happily surprised the cottage had a kitchen and a laundry machine. Teresa even surprised us with fresh bread, cheese and fruit! ||She was a heart felt host we regretted only booking one night and felt we should have stayed two at least. Read moreI have spent 25 days on the Camino Frances and I can say, without doubt, this has been my absolute favourite accommodation on my pilgrimage.
From the moment I saw Teresa’s absolutely infectious smile, I knew that this would be an incredible stay. I only wish I could have stayed longer.
Now some may be deterred because the location is a short way off the Camino but PLEASE do not let this deter you.
The accommodation was beautiful. It had all the comforts of home and then some. Teresa has gone out of her way to ensure that you are for want of nothing.
The home is immaculate. Teresa has left thoughtful treats all throughout the home. Her fridge and cupboards were well stocked for breakfast and she was only to happy to offer up options for lunch and dinner.
Teresa is also clearly proud of her community and is very knowledgeable about the surrounding area. She’s sure to provide you with tips to enhance your journey.

From the well stocked breakfast supplies (fruit, toast, yoghurt, cereal, condiments, muffins, tea and coffee) plus chocolate and biscuits to the lovely fragrant soap and shampoo. You can enjoy the tranquillity of the endless mountain views from the undercover terrace no matter the weather. It is spacious, clean, very comfortable bed and so very quiet. The host could not have been more friendly and helpful, even offered to drive us the 4km to town if we wanted to go out for dinner or get supplies to cook, as we are on bicycles.
