I received an absolutely wonderful and sincere welcome when I arrived, very wet, after my day's walking on the Camino - very much a "You are welcome to my home" type of welcome. Without even asking the landlady brought me newspapers to stuff into my boots to help them dry. In fact, she really couldn't do enough for me and was very helpful indeed. This hotel/family home is an old building (I believe that it has been in the family for a few generations) and is "rustic" - one or two floorboards creak, etc. - and I loved it; full of character. ||It doesn't have its own dining room and so provides a coupon for a buffet breakfast at Complejo Xacobeo - which was possibly the very best breakfast I had on my entire Camino.||If I do the Camino again I will want to...
Read moreWe were walking and failed to get here on time to get a room but the Canadian Wendy said they were superb. We drank wine waiting on them changing and the staff were really nice people. Wendy and her pals came down eventually and we drank more wine then met a gang down the street. It’s a good town and I often have breakfast or walk through it but this is my third stay and as albergue’s go it has enough but this CASA is like casa David at the end of town - worth every penny. Read moreClean! Good breakfast. We reserved a balcony room with Mountain View. After a couple minutes in the room, we realized that is not what we received. We tried to locate the host again, including ringing the doorbell a couple times. But, to no avail. So, we stayed in the room we had. This was unfortunate, because the host was otherwise very nice and helpful. One of two windows in the room was sealed shut.
