I went for an ayurveda break and to learn more about ayurveda. This break did not go as well as I would have wanted. The hotel is about 30 km from Malaga airport with good views of the coast and sea and i a family owned business run by Frtiz and Seba. But the beach locally a couple of km is nothing to speak of and not worth visiting, dark sand and stones. Fritz and Seba are lovely people. The food was good ayurvedic and fresh. daily flasks of tea and algae drinks according to your dosha although very little choice. ||I went with Spa Dreams and got my instructions in German which should have set off alarm bells ringing. I was told I would be met for a transfer in the arrivals hall. I waited and waited and paced round 20 times for two hours but nothing. I took a taxi which cost 70 euros (should have been 50) and arrived just as Fritz the owner arrived. We were both upset and I was told that the instructions should have told me to meet in a cafe, which it didnt, just an email saying will be picked up in the arrivals hall. This clearly didnt help for a relaxing atmosphere. I was here with 4 germans and a dutch lady and german was spoken constantly, although they were all kind enough to speak to me in english sometimes. The consultation had to be translated. The constant language spoken was german and by the end of the week I thought I would go bonkers! ||Please note that there is nothing to do here aside from treatments and swimming in the pool in the afternoon and should be treated as a retreat. There are one or two english books to read but the rest are all german. Christina who does the massages is great, and for the treatments and food this is reasonably good value. But this is rated a 2 star, probably because rooms are basic and there is no tv in the rooms. The lock on the door of the tv lounge keeps jamming and on the day of the Sweden game I could not access it or find anyone to help as it was the weekend. ||All in all, I would not go back as it really is not geared to the english market. We went to a market on the Thursday morning and that was pleasant. Fritz went out of his way to help with taking us to a good beach on the day before I left and to the market. But all in all, I found this break isolating and a little upsetting. I would...
Read moreI arrived to this hotel for a workshop which was set in the large function/yoga room near the pool. it was the perfect space to hold any kind of yoga/meditation retreat/workshop or any group events. Surrounded by greenery and trees and relaxing sun loungers. I wish i had stayed overnight. The rooms were lovely, and my friends who stayed said the beds were really comfortable. They all had a blissful, restorative time there. Loved the walks around the local area near the olive trees, beautiful! SUCH a contrast to the fast paced life of jobs/cities etc. All the common areas were soothing and soulful. The place we sat for lunch each day was so beautiful, looking out across the mountains and greenery surrounded by flowers and bright cheerful colours. I don't think it's possible to feel stress here! I look forward...
