Other reviewers have waxed lyrical about this hotel so I am going to be quite objective and produce a list.||We arrived mid afternoon with two suitcases and hand baggage to be allocated a room on the fourth floor.||When we asked we were told there was no lift and no assistance could be given as the receptionist was the only member of staff in the hotel.||There were seventy steps to the fourth floor and then about thirty metres to room 110.||The room was shabby. There was a lot of pine panelling which had water stains on it and a badly maintained look.||The bathroom was dirty with a lot of black mould around the sealant between bath and wall.||A sign on the wall advised not to drink the water as, we were told by the receptionist, it was not suitable for human consumption. She then sold us a bottle of water. ||Every enquiry usually involved another trek up and down 140 steps, as there was no information in the room and the telephone didn't work very well.||We couldn't reserve dinner as they were fully booked.mwhen we looked in on the dining room later there were only three tables taken.||When we saw the quality of the cooked breakfast we were pleased not to have tried the dinner menu.||The views from the balcony of the room were very fine, even spectacular.||The balcony itself had rusting bars and concrete smeared on the tiled floor.||The divisions between each rooms balcony were minimal so you shared next doors conversation and cigarette smoke.||The swimming pool is to be found, eventually, in the most amazing setting.||The paths to get to the swimming pool were not the easiest to negotiate, especially if you were unsteady on your feet.||Parking was reached by walking alongside a narrow and busy road rather than through the grounds as gates were locked denying access directly from the hotel.||Exiting and entering the car park was made difficult by the very narrow entrance - larger cars had considerable problems.||When I asked the receptionist on our departure if she had ever been in room 110 she admitted she had not.||This could be a fantastic hotel. It is in fact a terrible hotel and although the apartments seem to be reasonably well received and I cannot comment on them, I strongly recommend against staying in the hotel, if only for the sake of your heart and the seventy steps...
Read moreMixed Experience – Stunning Views, but Service & Amenities Disappoint
The main highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the incredible views — especially the sunsets — and the proximity to Deìa and Valldemossa, which were easy to reach. Our room was very spacious, including the bathroom, which was a pleasant surprise.
Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end.
Service & Amenities: • No bathrobes or slippers were provided, which seemed like a basic miss. • Breakfast was underwhelming — limited options, bland, and pastries tasted supermarket-bought rather than fresh. • Staff were well-meaning but forgetful — we had to chase things constantly. For instance, a detox juice we ordered never arrived, and additional items like a pillow or tissues required repeated requests.
Dining Experience: • On one evening, despite the restaurant being quiet, we were told we couldn’t sit outside (despite visible empty tables). Only after insisting were we accommodated. • The menu was limited, and some items were consistently unavailable. Staff appeared annoyed when asked about them, which felt unprofessional. It would make sense to just update the menu accordingly. • Bread served with meals was consistently dry.
Room Issues: • AC didn’t work for half the stay, though it was eventually repaired. • Small towels weren’t replenished on our last night.
Facilities: • When asked about a water refill station, reception directed us to buy bottled water at the restaurant. We later discovered a refill in the gym — though not mentioned. • The gym lacked sanitizing materials, which is concerning in shared-use spaces.
Early Checkout Breakfast: • The hotel offers a “cold breakfast” for early check-outs, but it consisted only of cold sandwiches and water. I requested pastries instead and was refused — how difficult would it be to include a few croissants? • It’s hard to believe the chef arrives exactly at 7:30 am when breakfast starts — it raised doubts about freshness and preparation.
Final Verdict: Come for the views and the location, but manage expectations about service, food, and amenities. A car is essential if you want flexibility and better...
Read morethis is a wonderful hotel with truly impeccable service. i do stay in many places around the world and i can say that this hotel was within the best i have ever experienced. the staff goes out of their way to think of any wish you might have before you can even think of it yourself. great rooms, great beds, really high quality, heavy duty furniture, extremely clean, wonderful breakfast including eggs to order, fresh salmon and a bottle of cava (spanish champagne) plus local dishes which vary every day. the staff (all locals from majorca) have always a smile on their face, it seems the managemant also takes good care of them, which is important in my mind as well. the area is great for hiking and the hotel has its own parking, so you can always venture off and dont have to worry about parking your car at night. valldemossa is 4km away, so its possible to walk there at night but better you take a bus or dedicate a driver. also, be aware that the seaside rooms have a really much better view than the ones facing the street in the back. its well worth the extra money. in fact, it is one of the main reasons to stay here. and last not least, there is a well kept spa and gym as well, together with a really huge pool which has the most stunning views. this is the best hotel within at least a 50km radius, no doubt! an the area is about the nicest on mallorca.
as far as improvements are concerned, i would recommend to adjust the lighting in the restaurant at night to about 1/4 of the current brightness and to a more yellowish light color. perhaps only candles on the tables. why? you can not see outside at night, with all these lights reflecting off the windows! its an easy fix, you should at least try it. also, (most) people look better at night when more dimly lit ... i am a designer, trust...
