We stayed here for my birthday (2 nights) and it was simply wonderful in a quaint and very special kind of way. There are few historic spa hotels like this one left in Catalonia and I think the architects and designers who remodeled it have done a fabulous job of ensuring the rooms are beautiful and comfortable (but in a sober and tasteful style, neither overly modern or ostentatious), while preserving the hotel's personality in the common areas. So you get just the perfect mix of modern where you need it and authentic elsewhere.||||Our room was huge, with tall ceilings and a balcony. The bed was excellent and the modern well-lit bathroom had a window into a wonderful enclosed old-fashioned patio. ||||Good buffet breakfast in the old dining room, with an option to have eggs (also included) and very attentive service. We also had dinner the first night (choice of buffet, menu or a-la-carte) and, while not memorable, the price-quality ratio was good (my husband's T-bone steak was huge). ||||We chose the spa option which entitled us to almost an hour in the pool each day, with bubbles, jets, etc. The people in charge are super sweet and make you feel like your time in the spa is very special.||||Finally you can take a wonderful walk around the surrounding wooden area with old-fashioned chalets from the turn of the century. ||||I recommend staying here and then spend the day sightseeing around the Vall de Ruicorb and its wonderful old villages (we...

We booked the Romantic pack. This was only €6 more than a normal room but included dinner and a circuit of the spa so seemed good value.||||The first thing that struck me on arrival was that the big windows from the spa overlooking a very well maintained garden, needed a good wash. It seemed as if they had not been cleaned in months.||||We were assigned a room at the rear on the first floor. On entering the room smelled awful. I suspect the heat had evaporated the water in the sink u bend and the smell of the sewer had gotten into the room. The view was of the air conditioning ducts and got worse as you put your head out of the window to see the rubbish bins.||||I refused to accept the room and was offered another which would be ready after lunch.||||We had lunch in the restaurant. Lunch was nicely prepared and well priced.||||The next room on the 3rd floor at the rear, was clean, smelled fresh and had a nice view of the hills behind the hotel. You had to crane your neck out of the window to see the rubbish bins. ||||Dinner, like the lunch, was again well prepared and included in the bill.||||I got a good massage from Jorge. Nice and hard, really squeezing the muscles, not the usual pitter patter massage one so often gets in spas.||||All in all it was a good stay and we enjoyed ourselves in very picturesque...

😎👍👋☕🍺 El balneari s'estén al llarg del riu Corb. Es van voler aprofitar les aigües mineromedicinals que brollaven en aquella zona. Està situat a un parell de quilòmetres de la vila, i hi trobem la Font Gran (o Pudenta) i la Font Petita (o Salada). L'any 1901 es projecta i construeix el balneari i comença a funcionar amb gran concurrència de públic per tal de gaudir de les noves instal·lacions de dutxes, polvoritzacions, dutxes de vapor, etc. Paral·lelament es procedeix a la plantació del gran parc. La seva ordenació va donar suport a les altres construccions posteriors i a la implantació de serveis públics. Entre 1913 i 1916 es fa la nova carretera d'accés, es construeix el pont actual i es construeixen nous xalets a la urbanització (Xalet de la Verge de Montserrat, Xalet del Jardí...). En una segona etapa del balneari (1921-36) es basteix un nou cos d'edifici i es modernitzen les sales d'hidroteràpia, cosa que fa tenir una nova embranzida en les obres de construcció de nous xalets i hotels. Després del parèntesi de la guerra, l'any 1944 es posen en servei els nous xalets (Sant Miquel, La Salut, del Carme, Santa Teresa....) i es millora la instal·lació de captació i subministrament d'aigua corrent. L'ús del balneari ve marcat per un descens en l'ocupació de les instal·lacions en els anys 60, que s'ha recuperat en els darrers anys, amb renovacions dutes a terme de manera continuada des del 1992. L'edifici es construí seguint una estètica historicista. Molts elements evoquen l'arquitectura medieval, com la galeria amb arcs de mig punt. També presenta finestres esqueixades amb llancetes, de reminiscència gòtica, així com algunes obertures en forma d'espitllera. Una edificació en forma de H, resultat de diverses ampliacions, acull les instal·lacions del balneari, restaurant, cuines, instal·lacions hidroteràpiques, etc. A destacar el conjunt format pels xalets existents, una part important d'estil modernista o noucentista, l'Hotel Regina, el parc del Balneari, amb una petita presa on hi havia hagut un molí fariner, etc. Tot això integrat en un ambient natural ben interessant. A la capella del balneari hi destaca un Via crucis ceràmic que va elaborar el pintor, escultor i ceramista Maties Palau Ferré entre 1958 i 1959 per encàrrec del doctor Manuel Trens.

Fundat per Mn Miquel Piera Martí arran d'una visita per prendre les aigües conegudes des de 1850, amb son germà Antoni. El 1901 es féu el projecte i construcció del balneari, inici de la urbanització de xalets. Entre 1913 i 1916, l'enginyer Miralles féu la nova carretera d'accés, de terra, i hi va haver la construcció del pont actual, fets que provocaren el creixement de la urbanització. El 1929 es féu la renovació de les instal·lacions hidroteràpiques i l'ampliació de l'edifici. Els anys 1941, 1951, 1961 hi hagué reformes projectades per J. M Ribes, J. M. Soteras i...
