Don’t be fooled by the inaccurate photos and shiny reviews of this property! Pilar is running this business for her sister that resides in Dubai! Neither has the customers interests at heart! Pilar is off to work and you are expected to vacate premises for the duration of her workday!
On the day of our arrival (a time stipulated by Pilar because she had to go to work) she advised us that there was a problem with the heating and they were hoping to get it fixed the following day. We asked for extra blankets and it was a bitterly cold night. The following morning at a pathetic breakfast of supermarket bread(toasted) processed cheese and processed ham Pilar told us that she spoke with her husband and they feel we should leave because we raised a few issues the night before! She then refused to cancel the booking (because she is supposedly a super host) and offered to refund us with cash! We declined and said we preferred to follow the Airbnb process. We were left no option but to stay in a hotel in Logroño for the remainder of our time in Rioja. Subsequently Pilar has denied all the above events and refused to reimburse our money! She was payed for our full stay of 5 nights!
Also, dont expect to be sitting in a comfy lounge with open fire with a cup of tea and a good book! There is no open fire as per the listing (they haven’t had the chimney cleaned)and they dont want to leave a fire for the guests whilst they go to work. They said that they are not used to having guests during the week! The parking is off the premises on the verge of the property within pools of mud in winter. You also can’t plug any electrical devices in as it will trip the power on the property!
Bed is tiny, bathroom even smaller and features a shower curtain (it’s 2018). No amenities ie, soap, shampoo, tea/coffee, TV, we asked for toilet paper.... I suggest Pilar and family do a course in hospitality and remember if you can’t be bothered to look after the customers needs, you shouldn’t be in the hospitality industry!
Be warned, this is honestly the worst Airbnb we have ever encountered, before you book, do your homework and look at all the other reviews on this property, they advertise on several other sites!...
Read moreLet me begin by emphasizing that the owners are charming and kind but that has to take second place to the B&B experience. Again in mitigation, I have to point out that they are dedicated full time school teachers with three children at home.|So where to begin? We arrived and no one was at home but we entered the home to see if anyone was about. We called one of the owners by telephone who asked if we had reservations "yes " we said "and we paid a deposit" eventually, we met Emily, an Australian helper who was a truly charming person who made us a cup of tea. We met the owners later and both apologized profusely. Later, we had dinner with the family which was rather nice. ( we paid for the meal of course)|The next morning we found ourselves the sole occupants of the house and found breakfast in the kitchen.Breakfast was tea, coffee, bread and rolls fresh from the freezer( yes still quite cold) and butter and preserves. We had tea again in the evening. We left the next morning after a breakfast similar to the one we had the day before.|The household can best be described as organized chaos, could do with a clean etc.|No we would not want to stay here again and only a masochist would ever consider...
