Hotel La Mora — Hotel in Villablino

People travel out of their way to visit Hotel La Mora in splendid isolation at the end of an old mining road and it's not hard to see why. Though eclipsed by it's magnificent surroundings, the hotel is warm and welcoming, the bar well stocked and the meals wholesome and delicious. Our room was plain and quiet, inviting the eye to the commanding view down the valley from 1200m above sea level. The area attracts geologists, pilgrims and wilderness lovers, all of whom are represented in the foyer of Hotel La Mora, this is a great spot to base yourself for extended trips around the mountains. Off the beaten track in a village that time forgot, so very peaceful. First impressions suggested the place is a little past its best, but nothing bad. We received a warm welcome from the friendly family staff and as our rooms were not ready, welcome drinks provided on the house.

The views around the hotel are great, with the notable exception of the back yard that needs cleaning up and tidying time spent on it.
