Hotel Mirasierra — Hotel in Villacañas

I really wanted to like this hotel / restaurant as the pool is absolutely lovely, as are the surrounding grounds and location of the bar. There is a code that you are given in advance to provide access to the foyer and your room, but then no one to ask about anything. I had to keep walking around and speaking to the man at the bar to try and explain that we needed breakfast at 7.30am as we needed to travel to a meeting in the next town. And that one of us was vegetarian. We then ate at the restaurant in the evening. Food was ok, but the service was really confused and slow (but friendly) and I had to go to the bar to get more drinks or ask for the menu etc. In the morning we squeezed into the lobby to find two slices of very processed ham (also for the vegetarian, they forgot), a slice of equally processed cheese, bread and an orange. The saviour was some grated tomato, so we could have tomato and olive oil on toast. The orange drink in a bottle had sugar among the added ingredients. Apparently the breakfast at 9am is in the restaurant. Such a shame as the rooms were nice. The air con kept turning off, despite it being set for 24C and my room was 31C all night. No phone in the room so couldnt speak to anyone and I was already in my PJs, and it had worked...

More than a hotel, this is a modern leisure complex complete with restaurant, outside pool, a real gym (not just a sad room with machines), a large garden and courts for other sports. It´s ideally situated for ornithologists and those visiting the famous 'humedales' (wetlands) near Villacañas.

A domotic hotel which combines the latest in technology with a real personal touch. Charo, the CEO, looked after us on our recent weekend visit to the annual amateur theatre festival and could not have been more 'simpática' and helpful. The decoration throughout the hotel and the downstairs bar/restaurant is elegant and the latter very popular among the locals with a great atmosphere in the evening. Fatico a scrivere una recensione, perché l'albergo è bello. E' inserito in un contesto strano, alla periferia di una cittadina che non è una meta turistica abituale (anche se poi ha dimostrato diverse cose piacevoli) ma sul tragitto da Toledo a Valencia. Fino a sera la struttura di destra viene utilizzata per attività sportive (alcune palestre) che di sera non si fanno sentire. Però c'è un po' il fastidio dei mezzi che di notte passano sulla strada davanti a velocità talvolta sostenuta. Ha il parcheggio gratis davanti alla porta. Un bellissimo parco sul retro con due piscine, di cui una molto grande. Purtroppo non abbiamo potuto usufruirne, neppure del ristorante, ma era tutto scritto al momento della prenotazione. Le camere sono davvero belle. Penso che non abbiano badato a spese. Ma ora arriviamo alle note negative. Non ha una reception, dopo la prenotazione mi sono arrivate diverse mail e ho dovuto fare il check-in online (compresa la copia del documento) che essendo in giro vacanza non è un piacere. Tra le mail mi sono arrivate le istruzioni con il codice per aprire portone e porta, ma con indicazione della camera sbagliata. Poi sono arrivate altre mail talvolta ripetute e non le ho più guardate, compreso un reminder su whatsapp. Arrivo in hotel e non riesco ad aprire. Non sapendo come fare entro nella struttura e per fortuna trovo un addetto alla manutenzione che mi aiuta a chiamare il responsabile. Rileggendo attentamente riusciamo ad entrare. La stanza dentro è ricca e tecnologica. Ha un sistema innovativo per controllare le luci (che hanno un foglio di istruzioni con i numeri sbagliati, ma non importa) e un condizionatore che non riesco a regolare. Chiedo aiuto mandando immagini al numero whatsapp alle 22 e non mi rispondono. Alle 3 mi sveglio e in camera ci sono 31 gradi. Devo aprire la finestra. La mattina ho una conversazione con una gradevole persona che si scusa per il ritardo della risposta e mi chiede se può fare qualcosa. Ormai è mattina. Conveniamo che forse il problema era la mancanza di un sensore sulla finestra. Morale: in un posto delizioso ho avuto inconvenienti e ho dormito...
