Borassus nature huts by ABC Leisure's group — Hotel in Mandaitivu

Wonderful stay at Borassus~ the service was top notch, really made us feel luxurious. Dinner and breakfast was amazing. We had 2 chefs cooking for us. We had not eaten anything all day due to traveling and our attendant Nilams helped us order delivery to hold us over until dinner. The room is unique and very clean. Pretty new as well. Not too many mosq in the room but we had a net anyway. Chill neighborhood for bike ride and stroll.

One thing is the distance. It’s far away from town. Took our tuktuk 30min and 1300rupees on pickme to get here from town and there are only a couple of small convenient store for junk food and bananas nearby. It feels like a getaway spot which it definitely is, sleeping at night was calm and soothing with the wind and some dogs holding meetings in the distance. Maybe some accomodations for lunch as well as transportation to be factored into the cost of the room.

We definitely appreciate the vision of the place and can feel the boss’ passion for making it work. Can’t wait until the area develops a bit more for the convenience. Give Borassus a stay! It’s great to be away from town and sleep under the...

Staying here was an unforgettable experience! The beautifully designed huts, crafted from iconic Jaffna palmyra wood and leaves, perfectly blend tradition with sustainability. Every detail reflects a deep respect for nature, from the materials used to the eco-conscious philosophy behind the place.

The host is truly exceptional—thoughtful, welcoming, and deeply committed to biodiversity, reforestation, and responsible tourism. He not only understands the needs of international travelers but also actively works to create harmony between the environment and the local community.

While the place is still a work in progress, I have no doubt that it’s on the right track. The only minor issue was some occasional smells from nearby fishing activities, but the host already has plans in place to address it, which speaks volumes about his dedication.

I highly recommend this stay to anyone looking for an authentic, nature-connected, and truly inspiring experience. Can’t wait to see how this place evolves...

I didn't like it.. I absolutely loved it! This is the place to be for any nature lover who is seeking an authentic experience off the beaten path. Just outside of a small fisherman's village and sourranded by outstanding landscapes and birds, this small lodge (just 4 chalets) is a real jem. The owner is super nice and he truly makes all the efforts he can to ensure an unforgettable and smooth experience to his guests. But any member of the staff is very attentive and ready to help. The chalets are truly beautiful, based on eco-sustanable architecture, are well designed, original and extremely comfortable... and the breeze during the night is just something you have to experience by yourself. I had a vegetarian dinner and a local breakfast and both meals were locals and very very good! Everything is just perfect and I think this place, its people and its soul have something special.

What I didn't like? I didn't like stay just for one night!! This place definitely deserves...
