A word about Mannar before the hotel. Mannar is a very small town and has few choices for tourists. All hotels are of a budget variety with mediocre facilities. The hospitality varies from average to great. Would advise to carry food for the stay unless one can handle the local dare which usually is very spicy. Also, the hotels are located in narrow streets and gullies. Impossible to locate most hotels without guidance from the locals. |We arrived into town late evening and got lost a few times as we scoured the town for hotels. Finally, we settled on Julie. |The lodging is located on the main road through town. So that's good. Walk in reception. Got the second floor room. As someone else has mentioned, they have problems with water pressure on the top floors. So the guys went to work hammering on the pipes till midnight. Finally we got a thin trickle and that's how it stayed. The room is small with a miniature TV. Good comfortable bed and clean linen. Nice view of the town from the window.
