Bimanjee Mango Resort — Hotel in Matara

This hostel is the reason why my friend will never come back to Sri Lanka. I do not recommend this place if you don't want to have trouble. A very unpleasant situation happened when my friend was bitten by the hostel's dog (she just wanted to leave the hostel in the evening). The dog is huge, a German Shepherd with large fangs. My friend received 3 stitches, which were applied only after 3 days because the wound was infected, and it was difficult for her to walk all this time. The problem here is that the owner of the dog did not provide any assistance, did not take her to the hospital, did not apologize, and refused to pay for the treatment. He just decided that he was not responsible for it. It's terrible that people who only care about themselves have such a business as a hotel. I'm not even talking about the fact that this person constantly violated my friend's personal space to beg for more money while she was living there. Since she is very polite, she couldn't refuse the MASSAGE that she didn't need at all, and got a very bad experience. In the end, we had to go to the police, but the Sri Lankan police were only able to squeeze out 5000 rupees from them, which is not even a small part of what happened to her and how much more money she will spend on it. The problem here is not about the money, but about how shamelessly these people acted. Terrible people who pretend to be nice and end up never taking any responsibility and leaving...

I can stay here comfortably for 2 nights. He called me before I checked in to confirm whether he would pick me up. He kindly told me about places to visit around his house. I could eat home-cooked meals for free. His wife's cooking was good. The family seemed to enjoy communicating with guests, regardless of their commercial purpose. His 4-year-old son always greeted me with a smile. I will come here again next time because I can stay comfortably as if I were staying at a friend's house. If you want to enjoy a comfortable trip at a reasonable cost, you should visit here. Thanks for Bimanjee...

Had one of the best nights of my time in Sri Lanka here with Chandrakumara and his family. They were so hospitable, welcoming, and kind and I had some of the best food ever there. I stayed in their treehouse and it was one of the best experiences for me. The bed was super comfortable and the sounds at night were so ambient and peaceful. Will be staying here every time I am in Matara. Also their German Shepherd, Black, is amazing. Stay here if you want to experience real hospitality...
