Ella Green Stay — Hotel in Sri Lanka

Just a gem of a B&B just a short walk away from Ella centre. The owner is such a lovely and helpful lady and the place is kept very clean and welcoming! We had a 4 person room as travelling two friends with two daughters. Felt very warm and safe for an all girls group and the owner had lots of friendly advise on what to do and see in Ella. The place really is great value for money and we recommend that you buy the Sri Lanka breakfast and dinner whilst there!||||As of the political situation of Sri Lanka at the moment, we highly recommend that you ignore this and travel anyway! We travelled around for two weeks mid protests and petrol crisis and our trip was not in any way disrupted nor did we feel unsafe at any point in time. The protests are mainly near government buildings and are visited by families with kids, monks and students alike and does not target tourists who contribute so greatly to the Sri Lankan economy. Now more than ever, the Sri Lankan people needs us to visit so they can recover after the pandemic. Go and enjoy one of the most beautiful islands in the world which has so much to offer in terms of nature, culture, history, religious sites, smiley people...

We stayed in Ella for 3 nights and these were the best 3 nights of our 11 day SriLanka trip. One of the biggest reason was Ella Green Stay. Firstly location, its absolutely perfect, on a side lane from the main street with all the pubs and nightlife, 5 ins walking yet it is away from the noise. The property is run by the sweetest couple and the wife makes the best coconut sambol (I had it everyday, I even got a little packed so that I can have it with lunch). Next, the rooms are great, big washroom, comfortable beds, the best bed linen you can get, its very soft. The hosts were very helpful and helped us in renting a scooter, visiting places and even on the last day when there was a taxi dispute. They are just very hospitable. We had searched a lot of hotels and finally chose thi ls one and do not regret it one bit, it was great. Also there is a seating area outside which have the best sofas to sit, the eating area is equipped with a kettle if you need hot water and other condiments. We stayed one night at Ella Green Stay and we recommend it to everybody who is searching for a lovely, beautiful place in Ella with good Sri Lankan food.||The bedroom and bathroom were big and really clean and beautiful with a nice view into nature. There was hot water and comfortable beds with a mosquito net.||On top of that you will meet there such a lovely hostess. Dilrukshi is really attentive, she wants to offer you on a very kind way the perfect stay in Ella. ||She helped us with all our hiking trips, bus leaving times, our next traveling stop and dried our clothes, that get wet because of a rain. On top we learned in our conversations with Dilrukshi a lot about the people and culture in Sri Lanka.||We got a really delicious breakfast and dinner.
