We had a decent stay at Ella Red Rock. We had booked a nearby property, but were redirected to this guest house on arrival. (It felt a bit awkward, but we rolled with it.)||Room was clean, large and fairly comfortable.||Staff were friendly and eager (perhaps a bit too much so... which is why it felt awkward when we were asked to stay here, rather than where we had registered - we were told it was the same owner...).||Biggest drawback is the logistics of getting to the hotel. Our van could not reach, so had to rely on a tuk-tuk to haul up our bags (and some of our party). Rest of us had to climb a very steep, long set of stairs to the property (as well as nearby spots). It was slippery and uneven in spots. (We had to traverse the same path upon our return from dinner, which was tough in the dark - we needed flashlights to find the way).||Ella is a funny spot, the places with some of the best views are a tricky to reach, and those in town are overrun with backpackers... Pick your poison, I suppose.||We likely wouldnât choose to stay in this area, again. The difficulty to reach the properties was not offset by the admittedly...

Theyâd also send you food to your room upon your order in a timely manner. The view from my balcony was superb. If you want peace and beautiful views, itâs the place to be. Since their WiFi wasnât so good when I arrived, the manager managed to fix it immediately so itâs fine. The breakfast was filling and met my needs.
What to take note? Bring your own toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo and hair conditioner. Hot water will come after you have the water running for a few minutes
Cons-I believe I arrived on a bad day as there were a bunch of local young men staying right next to my room and they blasted their music out loud day and night. I complained to the manager but it didnât help so I ended up going up to the guys to tell them to turn it down. A guest shouldnât need to do that if only the situation had been...
Read moreNice place đ Beautiful view. Very clean modern rooms and bathrooms. Be sure to bring your jackets. Its freezing in the early hours of the morning. It has a nice balcony for each cottage and you can see a water fall and the rail way line. The weather changes super fast here. From sunshine to complete darkness and heavy rain in matter of minutes. The staff is absolutely friendly. They will do anything. Hot water, TV are there. Getting there is little bit treaky, how ever not hard. A car like prius might find it bit difficult. Cars with body kit should take bit of care. You need to drive around 700m on a concrete road which is damaged.
If you are going from wellawaya side, pass ella town and tunnel, then there is a road toward left side, Kitale ella road. On exactly 8th KM post, there is a small concrete road to right side with a steep hil. Follow that road. There are road signs along the...
