Private apartment with kitchenette, very clean and well maintained. Beds sleep fine and have a nets agains mosquitos. It’s brand new. Breakfast is fine, some fruit, omelet and bread is served at your terrace after 8 am. Emma is building extra apartments so there are some areas not finished. We were awoken by some people doing some checkups on the construction. That was a bit annoying as we were taking showers (without a door in the bathroom) You get the feeling you’re alone on the mountain. Good place to relax (on a budget) and 2 mins downhill to the beach (the ultimate beach bay) if you don’t mind the construction and people. Ps. Emma, can you make a door or a curtain for the bathroom? Would make this place complete.
Edit after checkout: Checkout was not all it could be. My daughter was sick during the night and because of the construction people early on, and a party downhill that kept going during the night, we decided to go to the beach and sleep some more before we continued our travels. We forgot to tell Emma the sheets were dirty, so that was slimy mistake. But when I got there to pick up my bags, she was furious. I asked her what I can do to fix it, but she kept on talking furious to me and our tuktuk driver. I was more that willing to pay for the extra cleaning, but didn’t like the way she handled this incident. Eventually we agreed I will pay an extra 2000 for the sheets (10 Euro) and 500 for a broken glass, which was fine but it left a negative impression after a I hope she doesn’t do this to...
Read moreOur experience at Emma’s Seaview left a bad taste in our mouth. It was such a nice location. The initial staff were super nice and the manager was away in town attending other “business”.
We had tried to book through airbnb and it wasn’t yet approved. On arrival we were told there is room and we agreed to stay for 3 nights. We went for a surf left our bags there because the rooms weren’t ready yet and when we came back they had given our room to other people (we asked them how much the Seaview rooms were). We ended up compromising on a more expensive room. Then next day we moved to another room, confirmed to stay for three nights. Then in the morning after our surf the manager asked us to leave because he has another booking. Trying to communicate with him was difficult with no ownership.
We weren’t the only one who had this problem. Another couple arrived that night and they had given there room to another person. When we spoke to them about it, they said he told them that if they didn’t come they had to pay full price for no show. So they arrived in evening to no room…
Overall if the actual owner reads this, I’m not sure if Shan has other ‘business’ going on that is going on that is taking up his time but the customer experience sucked.
Other than that,...
Read moreEmma sea view is located close to Hiriketiya beach just a 200 mt stroll away. It has a large garden areas with ample space to walk.
Few huts available to sit and enjoy a meal or drink. B fast can be ordered and options available.
You can see the beach from a point in the property and looks nice.
Owner Shan is a very nice person and he took us to blue beach and arranged surfing lessons. He is a very friendly and helpful guy.
We also took chips and chicken bites which were made great too.
Had a great time there. We took a family room which had two beds and could fit in all 4 of us comfortably.
Only downside is the room was hot during the day time and bit less in the night. Recommend him to have more windows or have it air conditioned in future. An exhaust fan also would help hot air reduction.
Rooms are basic with beds side stool and bathroom. No TV or wardrobe or tables included. Mosquito net available. Mirror available.
Ranga the person who looks after the place is also a nice person and does his job well.
Recommend this place as its value for money. Parking limited...
