EVER BREEZE ELLA — Hotel in Sri Lanka

The low scores reflect our dissatisfaction with the hotel manager, not the employees. Unfortunately, Google does not separate what we like from what we don't like, as in Booking.com.

WHAT WE LIKE The young man who takes care of the guests does the housekeeping, prepares the meals, serves breakfast. He is lovely and accommodating. Always with a smile. The breakfast he prepares is generous and tasty. His crepes with bananas are a unique and special touch and particularly delicious.

Now onto the Manager ...

WHAT WE DON'T LIKE When we arrived, after several hours of traveling, the Manager came out to the car and told us I had only booked for one person. This was untrue. I had booked a double room in Booking.com. He then insisted I cancel my Booking.com reservation so he could save on the commission. The resulting price was more expensive, but I let it slide since the damage was done. On our second and last day, we stayed in the common area to work on our computers up until the check-out time. The same Manager proposed to rent me a room for a couple of hours at a discount which I said was not necessary. Then, when I wanted to pay with credit card, he said there would be a 3% service charge to cover the bank's fees. We stayed in a total of 9 hotels in Sri Lanka over 18 days and not a single one ever charged me a service fee when paying with credit card. I spent all my remaining cash and ended up having to go to the ATM on the drive to our next location. Our experience at Ever Breeze Ella was fantastic from start to finish. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our entire stay, making us feel welcome from the moment we booked until we checked out.

The rooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable, although having a wardrobe would have been a nice addition for storing our clothes.

One of the highlights of our stay was the delicious food served at Ever Breeze Ella. Every meal was tasty and served in generous portions, ensuring we never went hungry.

The hotel's location was also convenient for us, as we traveled by bike and found it very easy to reach from the city center. Plus, the peaceful view from our room added to the overall calm and relaxing atmosphere.

In conclusion, Ever Breeze Ella provided us with a memorable experience. With its friendly staff, clean rooms, delicious food, and convenient location, we would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone...

We had the opportunity to stay at Ever Breeze Ella for one night in Jan 2025.

After a long train ride and exploring Ella, we were greeted with smiles by the hotel owner and sons. They promptly brought our bags to the rooms, which are accessible by stairs only, so it was a great help. We were offered a choice of welcome drinks also.

We had booked 3 rooms which were all clean and spacious. Amenities and essentials such as soap, towels and water bottles were also provided in the room.

The view from the rooms were amazing! Breakfast was included in our package and we enjoyed it a lot. One of the sons is the chef and did an amazing job. Bread, pancake roll with bananas and syrup, omelette as we liked, fruits, juice, tea and coffee were offered and every plate was empty by the end.

I would highly recommend Ever Breeze Ella and will stay again without hesitation.
