French Villa — Hotel in Sri Lanka

Nothing special about this place, just another lousy "resort" you can find just about anywhere.

Unfortunately, had to visit yesterday to celebrate a birthday, and the place was deserted except for couple kids having swimming lessons in the very turbid swimming pool.

Had to take the dinner inside their so called "restaurant", which was literally heated like an oven, and these guys wouldn't turn on the ACs saying it would cost extra. Where on earth does a restaurant charge the customers for AC and expect them to eat inside a suffocating oven? Best nonsense I've heard recently!

Nothing special about food too. Just okay food you can get from anyplace nearby. Even that took them more than half an hour to serve.

So I'd say it's just another half-assed "resort" that's done just for the sake of doing, with no care whatsoever about customer experience. It doesn't take a genius to say that they are not good at...

My self and my wife was searching for a good place to stay the night all over Kaluthara in this afternoon and accidentally I came in to French Villa. Receptionist Dinithi welcomed us in friendly manner and given the best possible facilities to us. While the Manager Dilanka has given us a exceptional service and Kavishka who served us in our room was given us excellent service we never expected such good service while they are serving two wedding functions on the same night serving us right on time. Everything is beyond our expectations even food is excellent.

Proprietor should proud to have these exceptional staff under his umbrella and we wish them all success in future. We have no hesitation of recommending the French Villa Kaluthara for anybody to experience the same .Wish you Good Luck. We are...

⛔⛔Don't visit this place....⛔⛔ I had the worst experience at this hotel. The owner clearly doesn't care about her customers and just ignores any concerns raised. The pool was filthy, and we had to ask repeatedly for the filters to be turned on, but nothing happened. To make matters worse, some other guests vomited in the pool, and no one bothered to clean it up. It was absolutely disgusting, and we couldn't even stay in the water for more than 10 minutes. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Avoid at all costs!

Mistakes can happen, but the least you can do is be gentle and care about your customers. The workers were fine and just doing their jobs, but the owner lady was the real problem with her...
