Spent a night here as part of an Intrepid Tour. We were in newish accomodation, basic framed structures covered in vinyl (I think), with comfortable, mosquito-netted beds. No hot water in bathroom, but it was tepid and quite acceptable. Concrete floor and a few little frogs hopping around made for a very different night! |I loved this place... it had a great relaxed atmosphere, staff were kind and eager to help out. The new (and very hotel-experienced) owner is doing a great job, employing locals and also using local produce. He has a great vision for the eco-lodge, going forward.|Food was really tasty...barbecued meat was a welcome change after 10 days of curry! Nearby river was another...
Read moreGangadhara Camp is a camp, which lives on its reputation.||Rooms are in a shed with sheet metal and are ill-conceived.||They are poorly insulated and then, heat is oppressive.||Where are palm leaves, which insulated roofs, as it was on older pictures ?||Fans are useless because the are not powerful...||The shower delivers only a trickle of water.||I know that water resources are limited and that water is directly pumped from the near river, but showers are ineffective in this camp.||Bedbase is made with unequal wooden boards and it broke during my short stay.||They didn't even have some rescue boards and they had to change the bed...||Kerosine lamps were used as night lighting in walkways, although vegetation was inusually, very dry. It is a full unconsciousness !||The only two positive points are the meals and the service by a caring staff !||I suggest you to visit Back of Beyond Jungle Hideaway - Pidurangala, in order to improve the camp !||||||Gangadhara Camp est un camp, qui vit sur sa réputation.||Les chambres sont dans un hangar en tôle et sont donc mal conçues.||Elles sont mal isolées ; la chaleur y est étouffante.||Où sont passées les feuilles de palmier, qui isolent les toits, comme on pouvait le voir sur d'anciennes photos ?||Les ventilateurs sont peu puissants et ne servent à rien.||La douche ne délivre qu'un mince filet d'eau. ||Je sais bien que les ressources en eau sont limitées et que l'eau est pompée directement dans la rivière à proximité.||Mais, autant ne pas mettre de douche...||Le sommier est fait de planches inégales et s'est cassé durant mon bref séjour.||Ils n'avaient même pas de planches de secours ; ils ont dû m'apporter un autre lit...||L'éclairage de nuit dans les allées, consiste en des lampes à pétrole, posées au sol.||C'est vraiment de l'inconscience. En effet, au moment de mon séjour, la végétation était inhabituellement sèche !||Les deux seuls points positifs : les repas et le service avec un personnel...
