Gartmore Estate Bungalow — Hotel in Sri Lanka

A beautiful, serene place located in Maskeliya area.

We didn’t stay here but paid a visit to see the place with the intention of reserving this place in future. Mr. Dhanushka humbly let us see the place.

There are 4 rooms. Some are with attached bathrooms some are with shared bathrooms. 15 people can be accommodated. One drawback is they have single beds only. If you’re expecting to co sleep with a toddler you’ll face some difficulties.

They have a driver’s room, washing area and all the required stuff.

There’s a difficulty in reaching the place. You have to hire a Tuk/van or a vehicle with lower ground clearance.

They’ll provide a van for 5000/= rs if you’re with lots of luggage. The place is good if you’re visiting with friends. You can have a walk to Gartmore falls and have a dip.

You can visit any place on foot but traveling by a car is tricky.

For the year of 2024 there double room was 14 300/=, triple room was 20 625/=, family room was 24 200/=, full bungalow on weekdays 64 900/= and full bungalow on weekends 76 700/=. These rates are without food.

You can take groceries and give appu will cook and take care of...

The bungalow is in a beautiful location. The cook and assistant were excellent and very obliging.

The roads leading to the estate and to the Gartmore falls were really bad and we were not able to use our vehicles and needs to be accessed by trishaws, bicycles/ bikes .

There were no plug points in the bed rooms.

One toilet was not functioning and the other had a leak. There was no one to repair them since it was a weekend.

The color of the towels need to have uniformity and better quality. There were mosquitoes in the rooms but no mosquito coils available.

Overall the bungalow definitely needs a facelift and regular maintenance in order to attract more guests and...

It was a difficult ride to the bungalow with my small car(wagon r) but somehow I managed to arrive the location by the vehicle. The location is magnificent. I have travelled to lot of circuit bungalows in sri lanka yet this place was the best location.. there was a natural bathing place near to the bungalow.. the Appu (Thomas and his wife) both were very polite and tried to makesure quality time spend at the bungalow for both my wife and myself.
