Gem Field Rest — Hotel in Sri Lanka

Absolutely Awesome Rest and a Hidden Gem!!! I and my wife, during our recent visit to Sri Lanka had rare opportunity of staying in this property. It was more than an Gem Field Rest; its Hidden Gems in a green garden with tree canopy. The owner is exceptionally friendly, accommodative and went much beyond to make our stay comfortable, enjoyable and fruitful. It's a brand new property conveniently located very near Gem City of Sri Lanka and halfway from the International airport to down south Sri Lanka. Also a day excursion to world popular Adam's peak and several other destinations. It was tucked in lush green mango, jackfruit and coconut trees and I had opportunity of viewing several rare birds within the large garden. The gem field rest is a very clean, quiet and modern hotel at the border of the city. |The manager is super friendly and provides his guests with helpful tips and tricks around Ratnapura. ||If you wish he organises a gem-mine tour on your own with only the mine-workers. That was such a great experience! ||For breakfast you can choose between continental and local. We chose the local on, which was pretty good! Coffe/Tea (the coffe was very good!) Some hoppers, with egg, a certain special Sri Lankan honey, Dhal curry, yogurt, bananas, fresh fruit juice, coconut Sambol. ||They bring it up to your Balcony and you enjoy it with a beautiful view into the forest! ||Definitely a big recommendation from us! |We would come back any time. ||Thank you and good bye! |||T&F...

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying 2 days at the Save Field Rest in Ratnapura. A "little gem" in a city that is still very "authentic". Nice big rooms. The owner as well as his family were all very helpful and trustworthy. There are not so many eateries in this town but despite the lack of resturante at Gem Field Rest we could have served an excellent Sri Lankan evening meal made in their private kitchen. Should you be interested in buying sapphire rubies or other stones, they can also help with this at very good prices. We were also recommended a driver of the hotel's owner and this was a very friendly and welcoming man who was sincerely interested in doing his job the best and cheapest possible. We highly recommend this place as well...
